"Trapped in a world unlike any other he has seen, the Doctor faces the greatest challenge of his many lives. One final test. And he must face it alone. Pursued by the fearsome creature known only as the Veil, he must attempt the impossible. If he makes it through, Gallifrey is waiting…"

TV Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47-RFzZutkc

This episode is 55 minutes long and is a one-hander, only featuring The Doctor.

I'll add the poll about thirty minutes into the episode.

Yes, I read his 1997 autobiography 'Who On Earth Is Tom Baker?' recently, and he explains that he wanted to do a one-hander, but that the then current production team wouldn't allow it.

They thought that it would be 'too uninteresting' and would make the story mediocre. So they didn't go with it. They were worried that they would lose too many viewers.

Let's hope that's not prophetic!
If anyone can carry it, Peter Capaldi can.
That's not to say that Tom Baker couldn't have done, but sadly we'll never know.

I would urge you not to post a poll until the closing credits start to roll, else you risk getting the numpties that post rubbish voting that they dont like it and skew the results!

Last week and in previous weeks we would have a good conversation going on about the episode before it aired based mainly on trailers ect. Yes some people like your good self didnt like it and tried to say so, but as far as I can see they are the only comments that spoil an otherwise good conversation pre the airing of the episode!

The doctor isn't quite the only character in this episode actually, there's also a monster called the veil.

Seconded.

Plus, while you're setting up the poll you'll miss part of the episode yourself, tiggerpooh!

One of the promotional images seems to have a bloodied Capaldi wearing the War Doctor outfit.

Penultimate image in this batch

Looking at the pictures, I get the impression that the veil is kind of like the ghost of Christmas yet-to-come or a dementor from harry potter.

1 Line:

“When, at last, you rise to go, there will be another shadow next to yours. And your life will then be over."

From RT series 9 episode guide.
I don't see The Doctor say this, can you?

In fact, how about you read this how, since we only have 2 episodes left?
BBC have said more about the next 2 then they did

Could it be that the Doctor reads that line from somewhere? We dont really know till Saturday.

As far as the RT article goes there is hardly anything for Heaven Sent and Hell Bent!

I have a feeling it could be Missy? At any rate my best guess is someone right at the end, taking the Doctor through to the events of the final episode

I'm recording it using my Sky Plus box, because I always see The X Factor on Saturdays in the Autumn. I'll be watching the episode straight after The X Factor at 9:40pm.

I'll still add the poll though, during one of the ad breaks on The X Factor, being careful NOT to read any other thread in the process.
