Small request regarding the polls

Will it be possible to have the polls available till the end of the series? That way, I do not accidentally stumble upon spoilers that have been placed as topic headings.

I have a feeling that because I accidentally read that Clara was going to die, it spoilt the atmosphere because I knew that she was going to die. I want to avoid ALL Doctor Who news so then I can enjoy the series. I have been avoiding most of the Internet chatter, but I had to come online to vote what I thought regarding the current episode. However, some so called fans of the show decide to post major spoilers as the topic title.

Thanks.

Due to lax moderating it's not safe to be in this forum if you wish to avoid spoilers.

By "come to vote" I assume you mean on last weeks episode? (Sleep No More)

While it is annoying for people to see a spoiler in a title thread, I find it difficult to sympathise with anyone that visits this forum and has that happen to them. Digital Spy is a media news and gossip site and it exists primarily to satisfy the appetite of people that want to know a little bit more than they are given by official sources. It therefore follows that the forums that are attached to the parent site are frequented by people that have 'spyed' on the subject being discussed and know more than people who have not.

For me, when you visit DS you should be aware of the nature of the site and be prepared for the fact that other people may view information that you regard as 'spoilers' as being generally known and discuss it openly. DS rarely moderates this type of use because it would be hypocritical of them when a large part of the clientele they want to appeal to is here to take advantage of that fact.

There are plenty of dedicated Doctor Who sites out there that do moderate and create spoiler sections to keep unwanted information corralled appropriately. DS will never be able to do this because of the sub-forum nature of the site.

DS used to be one such moderated site, and because of that moderation it was far more busy than it currently is. In fact it's practically dead at the moment.

DS can be spoiler-tastic if it wishes, but it won't survive.

People who spoiler in thread titles should face a temporary ban in my view.

I guess that means that I will avoid this part of the forum then. It used to be so much better, but it has gone totally out of hand.
