Foundation or tinted moisturiser

Now I have never been a make up girl to be fair and I have never ever worn foundation However I am going through the early stages of treatment and it is likely that I shall lose hair lashes and eyebrows

So I got to thinking about using make up to make me feel a little bit more better and confident about myself the problem is as you can see foundation and moisturiser I've never used I don't quite understand it but my question is I don't want to feel like I am caked in make up so could I use tinted moisturiser or do I have to use both. It's daily makeup so the more natural the better

What is the best way to apply it and what are the best products please I appreciate your help

I dislike foundation as it looks like I'm wearing a mask. Try a tinted moisturizer to begin with, as it's really easy to apply with your fingers. I use this one. You may want the moonflower variant:

Chantecaille Just Skin is absolutely beautiful, pricey but worth every penny IMO.

Have you considered a BB cream? Coverage is supposed to be light, http://www.boots.com/en/Maybelline-D...Cream_1251099/

I think the trick is not to put too much foundation on your face. Start over nose and work outwards. You only need a blob half the size of a pea and then you can always put a little more on later if it is not enough. If it feels too heavy mix it with a little moisturiser. Remember less is more. I also used blusher, you don't have to buy an expensive blusher, lipstick works just as well.

Wear nice earrings too, big ones if they suit you.

Incidentally, if you do lose all your hair and don't want to bother with a wig you can buy false fringes. I found that the wig shop sold scarf hats that looked and felt like a soft scarf with elasticated edge. The fringe attached with Velcro and made all the difference. Very comfortable to wear too.

Your hair will grow back again if it is chemo.

Good luck with your treatment.

I got two really nice wigs, a long and medium length one. Yes its Chemo and had my first lot two weeks ago, another session next week is due. So far, my hair is ok, I have lots of it so can afford to loose some, I have used the Cold Cap too

I will have a look at the above but have heard the BB Cream is rather nice

Hopefully you will keep your hair with the cold cap. I did not use it as it meant staying longer if I recall. Mine was 14 years ago for breast cancer. No doubt they have told you that everyones chemo is different. Don't forget you can buy waterproof eye brow pencils now. I do wish you all the very best, I tried to laugh my way through it all. Told everyone they could make sick jokes and make me laugh as much as possible. It really helped my recovery. I know not everyone feels the same way so for some this way of dealing with it is not possible. Just saying how I coped with it all. You will find your own way. xxx

BB Cream is very light and probably the best place to start if you're not used to having a base on your skin.
Tinted Moisturiser is a little heavier and foundation is the heaviest and gives the most coverage.

It might be worth starting with a slightly tinted BB cream with a dusting of translucent powder on top to 'set' it and then a little bit of blusher just to light up your face a little bit.

Good luck x

Bb cream is often heavier than a tinted moisturizer in my experience. The op wanted something natural. The product I referred is both natural, and gives cover a without a layered feeling. I've never got on with a bb cream.

I do however wear a moisturizer under mine. A matter of personal preference.

I hope your treatment goes well op x

Remember you are beautiful as you are, hair or no hair. Stay true to yourself. Best of luck with your chemo xx

Op you don't have to go with either. I just use a dab of cream blusher over my moisturiser and a teeny bit of foundation on my under eye dark circles. When I'm 'living it large' I might add lippy or mascara. Sometimes I replenish later in the day with a whiff of powdered blusher.
I think even tinted moisturisers can look unnatural and imo you can glam yourself up without covering your face in gunk.
