4th impact got this?

I didn't see last night's show just watched their's and Che's performance (Che's great!) on YouTube though. They've had two great weweeks and their global reach is massive. Asia's huge and the whole K-pop thing / J- pop is massive in Asia not in the UK or US for cultural reasons, but here's a girl band who can sing just as well and better than any UK and US pop girl bands before them but are Asian and coming out the UK XFactor. That means they are going to appeal to all those markets, basically the whole world.

My initial thoughts were because theyre not a group of predominantly white girls they wouldn't be supported by the British public, but no, I think their talent can overcome this disadvantage.

Vocally they are far better than LM, so they have every chance to go on and do well.

They aren't even a good K-Pop group, so their chances even in that market are not great.

And they wail rather than sing.

LM did a nice K-Pop song with the group Flower, 'Dreamin' Together' which indicates LM have more potential for musical diversity than 4th Impact, especially when you consider their merciless version of 'Sound of the Underground'.

They look much older than their alleged years , they have one routine to a set amount of songs they can do.

I doubt they could sing any ballads as their songs are based on a one dance routine..

Can see them going next week

The judges and show have been completely indifferent to them since the lives began. I'd say they are now their least favourite act after Anton and would be surprised if they were allowed to win.

I don't think they have been allowed to shine at all.

I've yet to see proof of this, they are quite average imo and tend to come across as quite shouty.

Also I don't see them being marketable at all.

They're a bit blah.

Agreed, plus they're sounding the same every week.

Scream, wail, scream, wail, dance, token rap, repeat sequence.

But yes despite that I'll still take them to win over the 3 Divas.

They are not marketable in the USA, Britain or mainland Europe though

Every single performance is completely polished and professional, they haven't sung a bad song. Saying that, I don't think they'll win or come close to it.

Yes, Cheryl keeps on about their 'professionalism' which is shorthand for saying that they have been around for some years on the talent show circus. They are simply ringers brought in to somehow boost ratings, I'm not sure it has worked but in a show which is more or less bereft of talent or ideas they might still win.

I think the show has completely wasted their potential. But then the show seems to have done that with everyone this year.

If you want to know what 'professional' really means, check out the Adele programme on iplayer. And the best pop music isn't always polished anyway, the best thing it can is authentic.

There's no demographic Adele doesn't reach, whether she dances or not.
Marketing doesn't come into it. Also Adele belongs to a canon of singers like Dusty and Amy, nothing like Louisa and Lauren who listen to too much Whitney and Mariah.

Also there's no substitute for class.

exactly... why compare Adele to 4th Impact then? if you already put Adele on the highest pedestal... and for the record 'being professional' does not mean being amaze of someone's authenticity... and speaking of Amy I agree she sound really good but she was unprofessional on her some of her concerts.

I don't put Adele on the highest pedestal, I reserve that for others. But she is very good.
The professionalism on the BBC show was in the musicianship, the authenticity in the music itself. I have no idea what your middle comment actually means.

They have very strong voices but they're not very good at English...

I don't know why Cheryl keeps giving them songs where they have to say a lot of words. Their pronunciation at the start of Ain't No Other Man was absolutely dreadful.
