If he has been allowed any input at all so far, it will have been the Waltz (which scored less than Ainsley's, and only one point more than Daniel's!). Oh, and possibly the Rumba (which Len didn't consider to even be a Rumba...).
I can tell you right now, that he definitely did NOT choreograph their Jive, Chaleston, or Salsa (probably their 3 best dances...)
I'd be very surprised if he had anything to do with much else, including that hybrid American-Viennese-Smooth-Waltz-waftography thing they just did in Blackpool (you know, the one with the obvious mistakes, but which still scored two 10's - one from the ITALIAN judge, as usual...)

But don't worry, when their very late Cha-cha-choo finally arrives, that one might have some Gio input...
Good luck with that. Maybe he's got Trent's number, and can ask him for some ideas...?

By the way, I'm actually a GMF fan! (although not a fan of Gio, I must admit). I'd much prefer Anita or Jay to win though, as I believe they deserve it so much more...

Len putting the fear of God into him helped him to focus His choreographies are a proof that you can do basic steps _and_ have a routine that will wow both Len and the viewers. He and Georgia are my favourites to win. It used to be Jay, but there's always something not quite right with his dances.

Same here, I was hypnotised by his hips when they shot across the floor like a rocket in their samba But in their Charleston Georgia was so good in a few places that I lost focus of what Giovanni was doing and had to rewind. What a chore

I like Giovanni, too, and Georgia - although I wasn't keen on her dress this week.

I've really grown to like him. I like how he cares about Georgia and I can see during the dances he's very thoughtful to her and proud of her.

And I also liked Gleb but gone off him. He doesn't really seem to care much about Anita. For him it's all about him.

Love him! Not only a fantastic dancer and choreographer, he has been able to find a great balance between being a strict teacher and fun partner for Georgia. He seems to really care about getting the best out of her talent, teaching her properly and has definitely kept the focus upon showing her ability. There's a genuine quality to their routines. Was impressed that he dealt with Len's criticism by listening, respecting what was said and making the necessary changes to his choreography style.

Seems to be a genuinely lovely guy as well... so pleased he was allowed to bin the Vincent impersonations and just be himself. There seems to be a real warmth towards him from everyone else on the show, which is nice to see. Great addition to Strictly!

Not even close. Georgia remaining seated for 30 seconds of a 90 second Samba is not "choreography", to name but one discrepancy...

He certainly isn't the only pro guilty of including "faffing". And the rest of that routine was highly energetic and packed with choreography.

I wouldn't say "packed" as every Samba step was followed by girations and even the Macarena. And whilst other pros do faff (looking at you Aliona, Tristan, Kevin, and Janette) Gio is by far the worst for it. None of them every take up to 1/3 of the routine!

Remember, Gio doesn't actually choreograph any of the routines ...

Where's the old brick wall emoticon when it's needed ...

It was very high velocity for someone who isn't a pro (something the judges picked up on). And I don't think he's worse than any of the other pros when it comes to faffing. The samba is the only time I felt it went on for a little too long (we can agree on that at least). The rest of his intros have been fine IMO.

I don't think he chreograohed the Charleston (Not many pros do Charleston professionally and I think only Vincent and Flavia did their own ATs) but I think he'll have choreographed everything else, maybe not alone, but he would certainly have input.

I'm still unimpressed either way...

The intro may have been long in the Samba but the routine as a whole was longer to make up for it so they still actually danced for an 1 and a half minutes with an extra 30 seconds added on at the beginning for the intro.

It wasn't... Excluding the 10 seconds of applause and logos the dance was 1 minute 39 seconds. Jay's, Katie's and Helen's dances were all the same length or longer that week alone!

They may say different publicly but I doubt if any pro does TBH.

Some are better at coping and are more gracious than others. I mean even Anton, who usually gets the duffers and is well used to it by now, is positively giddy with relief about getting Katie this year and I can't begin to imagine the disdain that Gleb would have to hide over getting Carole, for example.

However, yeah I agree that Giovannis real test of longevity will come with another partner.
