Yeah I wonder if Gordon was waiting for Aaron to go elsewhere (as he knew Aaron wouldn't stay around) & for Chas to invite him into the pub?

Btw, did anyone else notice Aaron looking out the window when he was speaking to Paddy? It was as if we were meant to take notice of that maybe with what's to come. It was like he was worried about something?

Maybe just a clue from the writers to viewers that Gordon isnt everything that he seems?

Yes i did notice that and wondered what that was all about too. To be honest i think todays ep was no good at all from an Aaron story POV. I felt the writing for his character when interacting to or speaking about Gordon seems far more casual than previously, which makes no sense to the dark story coming up, you don't speak about someone with just casual distain or like an annoying fly in that situation. Then Aaron randomly looking out the window. Then the random car scene. Oh any btw, the dingles just ramdomly welcoming Gordon in like he's been around years an part of the family and hasn't just rocked up after years and it's the first time they have seen him! Nothing made sense to me tody. I'm utterly confused.

The scene means something according to Duncan...i wonder what?!

Going back to what this secret could be.

I suppose it could be about Aaron being gay. Remember when Diane told Gordon about it, he was so non-chalant, almost amused by it? And we know Aaron hated the fact he was gay when he first came out, putting on this image that he was brought up to hate gay people & tried to kill himself in the process because he was gay. Let's also not forget, he mentioned words such as "pervert" when describing gay men once he'd come out. Could it be a case of Gordon doing something to other gay men & Aaron noticed, hence why he put on this act of being hard, even though he knew himself he was gay?

Just throwing that out there. I don't personally think it will be this, I think it will be something else, but what I don't know.

I'm still confused about the "it's never been done on soap before" thing. Has that already come & gone with Chas' sleepwalking & nightmares? Or is that what's to come?

I wonder of that scene has nothing to do with Gordon and it's more about Chas? Maybe he's stalking Chas? Or we will find out he's controlling? I don't see what that scene could mean regarding Aaron?

I do think it's just a case of making out to the audience that Gordon is not all he seems to be & has got some motive to be back? Hence why the creepy sitting in the car alone on a cold, dark night?

I was honestly expecting to be shown a body in the back of the car! Yes, that's how Gordon makes me feel

Happy Christmas everyone! we had an episode today? I've been with my family all day and I didn't know I'll have to catch up in a bit but what's this "look" you're all talking about?

ED have put up a video of the big 2015 moments. Surprise, surprise. It starts with everybody's favourite snogging Debbie in the garage. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

Plenty of our boys, although I'm surprised they didn't show Katie's death, which I thought was odd.

And it ends with Zak saying he's staying in the village, sticking with Joanie because he loves her! What on earth are ED doing? They've just completely destroyed one of the biggest power couples ever in soap? Ridiculous.

There's also a nice video on ED's Instagram account of Danny wishing everyone a Merry Xmas.

There is a scene where Gordon calls chas and we see him speaking to her on the phone, randomly in his car, parked somewhere in the village, it's all very creepy then she asks where he is and the scene ends and it seems like he cut her off. It and he were just really creepy.

Maybe it was the nightmares/voices.

I do know what the secret is but don't know the full details.. The secret has been shown in soaps before, nothing new.
I remember Kate saying how it hasn't been done in soaps before.. maybe they are showing it differently.

What the hell? Zak and Joanie being a proper couple? This story is so ridiculous. It seems like everyone must have an affair or swap partner. And literally the only interesting and good one have been Robron.

I don't think she said it's never been done. She said it was new for her and emmerdale. Whatever that means.

Kate actually said it hadnt been done in Emmerdale before and the story was new to her which I think is true. It has been done in other soaps.

I dunno about in the future but i really don't feel like the writing is fitting what the secret is heavily rumoured to be. It does seem to more down the line but right now, it really doesn't seem to be heading towards that. Maybe it's just me?

If the storyline is what I think it is
Spoiler
childhood sexual abuse/rape by a parent
(and I know you can't confirm if I am right or wrong) then that hasn't been done on Emmerdale before that I can remember. Eastenders have done it before, Brookside and Hollyoaks but not ED

I thought Aaron was very visibly upset by Gordon's presence tonight, he was on edge even when Gordon was gone.

The 2015 review video seems more like a review of the last half a year. Nothing involving Katie's death, the Robron affair pre-reveal etc. which were big things. I don't think anything was actually included other than Alicia's sexual abuse storyline from before July.

Emmerdale have did a storyline like this before... it wasn't a male but a female.
Maybe it is the first time because it is a male,

Thinking about it now, Aaron was very edgy yesterday (the e-fit on TV/paper, at the Nativity) & that could very well have been to do with the police showing up. But could it also have been to do with Gordon showing up again? His reaction to him finding out Grodon giving him an alibi was also odd as well. And as I mentioned earlier, when he looked out the window at Paddy's.

The thing which I also find a bit strange is that Aaron hasn't really been protective of his mum really has he since she's come home? Yeah we had that chat in the pub back room, but I thought we might have seen him looking after his mum, especially since Gordon's shown up. Surely if this "secret" was so bad, wouldn't Aaron be doing everything to protect his mum? (Although we might see this more in the NY, when he finds out about Chas/Gordon seeing each other behind his back).

The rumoured secret doesn't involve Chas though and maybe Aaron wouldn't think Gordon is a risk to her really and he doesn't need to protect her. It's about himself. He wants/needs Gordon out of their lives again for his sake.

If the secret is about abuse, then we have seen it on ED before with a woman; Andy hitting Jo if I seem to remember rightly? And as has been mentioned, we've seen it on other soaps (I.e. Little Mo & Trevor on EE).

Has there ever been a male abuse storyline before in soap? Definitely hasn't been on ED. Anywhere else? That could be what Kate Oates means as regards to "never been done before" I suppose.

I can't say I enjoyed the episode tbh normally the Christmas episode leaves you with a warm feeling but not this year, this Zak affair is just horrible what is Kate Oates even thinking it's like she is trying to leave her mark on the show before she left, The whole thing just summed up how miserable the whole village is as a whole.

Disappointed though I had a feeling we wouldn't get Robert but we could of least be told where he was spending Christmas.

What was the point of Liz Dawn's cameo we hardly saw her Cheryl the dog got more screen time but at least Eric's drawn out misery seems to be at an end.

Anyway I was surprised at how there was no reaction by the Dingle's to outsider Gordon being there, the car thing was strange it's not clear what they were trying to get across there.

So Debbie is suddenly fine with Ross' involvement in the robbery because it was Aaron that had been the one who was violent. I look forward to NYE

I think it's sad both Paddy and Chas were more interested in Tess/Gordon texting them than to give Aaron much consideration and to listen to him properly he's becoming isolated.
