The problem i have with it is that it's unlikely it will be out the goodness of his heart, it will be some manipulation or benefit of himself, and so i'm quite concerned if it potentially earns him brownie points with Aaron. I don't want Aaron thawing towards him based on lies/manipulation/selfishness..

Also i see in an interview with Lucy that she says during the ep in the woods she see's various people from her past..i wonder if we could get a first glimpse of Gordon?

I will like this story i think as it will show worried/concerned Aaron and that always pleases me, i guess as someone who's watched when Aaron really didn't that much care (or show it anyway) about Chas (or anyone really) it's just so lovely to see him being loving and caring for his mums wellbeing.”

tbh I don't pay much attention to what magazines say about the motivations for Robert's actions. He could throw himself in front of a speeding bus to save a childs life and they would claim it was all part of some dastardly grand manipulation. I would rather wait and see to decide for myself.

I felt a slight addition was required.

Exactly. Robert can never win as anything he does could be for his benefit in some way if you look for it. It was only 10 days ago he was getting Aaron out of prison, saving his brothers life and covering his brother's attempt to murder him, none of which particularly benefit Robert.

Then we have the court stuff next week with him helping Chrissie and she's found innocent as a result, again it could be painted as him gaining from it or he could just be doing the right thing. Saving Adam, again just doing the right thing.

I find it sad that all this is ignored or painted as him selfishly trying to gain from it.

Interesting they're making it out to be Robert trying to get back with Aaron yet neither Duncan or DS indicated that and I feel they are more reliable.

Neither Duncan or DS indicate what it is he does or why he does it. They just say he uses a situation to his advantage, no context.

It's not surprising that people doubt Robert's actions as everything he does normally has an element of self gain.It will take a while to gain anyone's trust or support after all he has done and I don't blame anybody for that really

I just realised... Robert was in court a couple of weeks ago when his ex lover was being accused of trying to murder him and he's gonna be back in court next week as the wife he's separated from is on trial for 3 people's deaths!

He sure knows how to pick 'em!

Well to be completely fair, his involvement with them is what led to them being in court

It's not Robert's fault that Aaron picked up the gun or got caught on camera trying to hide it though

The scene with Aaron/Diane and Chas was nice, it's nice that Aaron's politely calling out his mothers attitude towards Diane.
