Springing a Saturday exit on us....

I think that's out of order to be honest. How many people are out on Saturday night or watch TV on catchup or record it on a box?

Surely ITV and the producers of X Factor know that much less people watch live TV at the time when it's on nowadays. Even from their own viewing figures that they trot out to try and boost their ratings!

With that in mind, I think it's really unfair to people that usually watch later or over the weekend, when they would still be able to vote for their favourite, to suddenly decide to have a ten-minute vote-off on the Saturday show without any prior warning whatsoever.

It's not just people who are out on Saturday nights at the pub or whatever, that you can then say 'they weren't real fans then', what about people who had to work that night? Or people who would normally watch it after they'd put their kids to bed, or something? I think it's really not on.

I Think that they decided to do this at short notice to try and get a few more viewers to stay to the end of the show and increase their Ratings going into Im A Celebrity. Looking at the Ratings though this has not worked.

Who cares, it's a tired TV show.

Well, I care. I like this TV show. I liked it a lot more once, and it has all the ingredients to be as good again.

Just for whatever reason, they aren't using them a lot of the time, and instead seem to be trying to script comments and 'cast' their contestants instead of just letting them do their own thing.

Yes if Sharon, Nicole and Gary were brought back together with Dermot

I, like a lot of people, Sky+ SCD, XF and IAC and start watching a bit later in the evening so I can FF through the dross and catch up by the end of the night.
So the flash vote last night ruled out me plus a lot of others getting the chance to use our freebies in time

Not that I would have voted for mason, but that's not my point.

I agree with those who say it's sad that Mason allowed himself to be castrated by the show, probably for promises that weren't kept.

From his audition to this week, was like watching him shrink in front of our eyes and become a shadow of himself. If only they'd have let him go with his own instinct and sing a Drake song last night. It might not have saved him but at least he could have gone out with a bit of dignity

They hoped people would tune in live for it. Judging by the ratings, they were wrong...again.

I stand corrected. 2 people care.

I cared. Mason was my favourite and I vote for him every week, this gave me no time to vote for him seeing as I had to watch it recorded last night because I had to go to the in-laws. Yeah I understand that it probably wouldn't have made a difference but still, bit annoying.

This cheap stunt smelled of gin and desperation. At this point, we're watching the show circling the drain.

I don't understand why they brought it back. People hated the flash vote last time and it was axed early in the series. Surely they should bring back the things people liked that have been axed like the celebrity mentors etc.

The cynic in me says they brought it back deliberately to knock someone out they didn't want to keep in. Potentially someone who usually gains a lot of votes slowly over the weekend.

After all, they'll have the stats on this kind of thing, and by they I mean the producers of the show.

You'd think if they wanted to create a talking point and get a load of votes at once they'dve publicised in advance that they were doing this. It wasn't an on the night decision or they wouldnt've had a graphic ready for it on the big screen.
