It not like he had a choice, he ended up teleported off world!

What about angie and artie? They've been conveniently forgot about. What about the school? Surely they will notice her not going to work.

Some other plot holes from the episode:

Where did Rigsy buy his hoodie? Which mobile network is he on? Does the Raven like noodles? Will the baby go to university? Which is the court of first instance for contractual disputes involving chronolocks? Does Carbolic Smoke Ball work as precedent?

There was a time skip of about two years after Name of the Doctor and Clara quit being the Maitland nanny. By Day of the Doctor, she's already been at Coal Hill for over a year (one of the Titan comics has her mention that her cramped flat was all she could afford on a second year teacher's salary).

The spin off Class will probably show the aftermath at the school, since it's set there.

Claras exit from emmerdale was far more upsetting than doctor who. Shes never mentioned though which is strange as the vicar who is her uncle is still in it also debbie dingle was her girlfriend and she never mentions her

No offence to the young actors, but.....phew! And there's no reason to believe she was still their 'Nanny' after starting teaching full-time. We don't see everything. And Tom_Tit is right; the story has to move on. This is arguably a 3 parter (a la Utopia, etc)so we'll see where this goes....

ETA Or what JAS84 said!

Should have said Jenna then really, since you're referring to someone else she played other than Clara. Her Emmerdale character was called Jasmine Thomas - and now of all times would be a good time to remember she exists considering Ashley's current dementia storyline! Her departure was a four year jail term but that was six years ago. Debbie not mentioning her is easily explained. When Jasmine was jailed, they decided never to see each other again.

Bit of an important scene to cut

I disagree. Those things are completely peripheral details.
