calm down, its strictly, not watergate...

the DO a rarely needed failsafe mechanism to stop the idiot public from keeping a duffer in the competition based on the combination of votes and scores alone.

people are often (and rightly) put through basically for being better dancers overall (rather than in the dance off). would you prefer a worse dancer to go through if a better one slipped or tripped?

It was a mercy killing folks. All the people moaning should have voted for her! Was getting ridiculous the amount of times she had been in the D/O.

Sanctimonious reaction.

infantile and insulting. i'm not a peter fan, and i'm not baiting. it happens that i believe he's a better dancer, and its not the first or last time a better dancer went through regardless of the relative merits of the DO dance.

he'll be gone next week so just calm down. count to 10 (million) or something.

The judges are supposed to be objective

Twitter has gone into a bit of a meltdown over this

The BBC strictly account and the Judges are getting bombarded by claims of Fix.

I don't know they are are going to play this out on It Takes Two next week, as the amount of criticism the BBC are receiving is overwhelming on this result.

Without a doubt this was a dubious decision, looking like the majority of strictly viewers think something is very amiss tonight, going to be interesting to see how the next week plays out.

Was she best in the DO? No question about it - YES. She should've been kept.”

Besides which it is an assumption. I did vote for her, because I thought other dances were worse last night.

The judges have finally lost their credibility and don't have the courage of their convictions. Probably done Peter no favours could turn lots against him. |They looked surprised when Len disagreed >The BBC have a lot to answer for

I am surprised that they did this this week of all weeks.

A retiring professional dancer tells the national press that the show is fixed in favour of certain celebrities which is allegedly hotly denied by BBC spokespeople.....

Then the judges save the poorest dancer in the dance off......

Go Ola! Go Ola! You have been totally vindicated by tonight's events!

Tonight's dance off was a complete joke, Jamelia was great and it's by far her best ballroom, whilst Peter did not improve one bit with his so-called "jive". I can no longer take this show or the judges seriously. Great going Strictly!

It didn't help Pixie did it?? Besides its highly debateable that PA is a better dancer than Jamelia, she is showing signs of improvement and once again used the dance-off to work on her flaws.

I will never mistrust an ill omen from a woman in a woolly grey swimsuit again.

I am very impressed by Jamelia tonight - after their farewell dance she asked Peter 'Are you alright?' Sorry to see her leaving even though she had been in the DO for so long she was improving.

Peter reminds me a bit of Jake last year. Early promise, form takes a dip but still not the worst, bit of a spike but then performances drop.

The difference is that Jake avoided a dance off til the semi finals.

They will save him again should he be in the DO , they will not want to have just one male in the comp .

This is it in a nutshell . Tristan looked like he'd won the show rather than been eliminated . He must be exhausted . He gave me my best lol moment a few weeks back though when he stopped jamelia over-spinning by using her hair to brake her .

I was a Caroline fan but last year's final would have been so much better with Pixie in it. She was class.

Anyhow, they swore they saw something better in Simon on the night .. but they can't claim the same here! Peter was awful!”

Well none of the cha chas this year have been good so far (I believe the highest scored cha cha so far this series is 30). And yeah they were both tied on 35 points. It would have been difficult for Pixie to sort out her leg action in just a matter of hours between original dance and danceoff. As for Simon, a noticeable mistake was when Kristina could not get her leg on his shoulder the first time when he was supposed to spin her around. In the danceoff, they sorted that mistake out.

I very much doubt it. Peter is not short on ego, no matter what else he is short of.

Len might still be on meds after his big op though , because for SURE he missed helen making a pig's ear of her charleston . I think that's why bruno was so tentative in querying aliaz about the mishaps . He(bruno) asked , actually asked the pro , if they had gone wrong on the stairs , then looked sideways at len as if to say "did you notice that boss ?" , but len looked blank so bruno dropped the subject . Aliaz obviously denied any errors , of course . But it was a funny old night re spotting mistakes . Minor ones got exaggerated and more prevalent serious ones stayed off radar . I think they were all a bit too caught up in the blackpool hysteria to be honest .

Note, FOUR times Jamila was in the DO, so people have not been voting for her, clearly thinking she hasn't too good, or she wouldn't be in the DO four times which is a record. Rather than the public the judges saved her all the previous times.

Of the people pest here, how many voted for her, as clearly people haven't been voting for her before.”

How many of the public voted for her is irrelevant!! This was a dance off judged by professional judges!! Peter Andre gave it rock all but there was no more jive about it than in his first attempt, Jamelia on the other hand danced a very creditable quickstep in both the main dance and the dance off!! I've never voted on Strictly in my life but I do like to see fair play & tonight we didn't get that from three of the judges!! Disappointing!!!

I never usually comment but tonight my bubble burst. Strictly has been one of my greatest pleasures since the beginning, in a crazy and busy and traumatic life, it was my time out each week. Gave me so much joy. More than any reality show or any other programme ever can. Because the other programmes all seemed to be fixed, were never as real somehow. And silly as it sounds, I really believed in Strictly, and although it may not have always gone how I wanted, it was fair. And tonight, as I said, the bubble burst, and real life came pouring in. I now believe it was not just unfair tonight, but it was a fix. So although it would be untrue if I said I will never watch it again, it is true when I say I will never again believe in it, and never again feel as I did. How sad.

Sadly, I feel exactly the same.
