The forum is full of people saying similar
It strikes me as odd.
It's an entirely unimportant dancing light entertainment show, I enjoy it but I don't care about it.
On the plus side, if the disillusioned stop watching the forum will have less ranting posts going on a and on about the same thing over and over and over.

But.. But...This is one of those life changing moments... 'Where were you when jamelia got thrown out in the dance off' .... Although I wonder if her name will even get a look in, cos I don't think anyone's the slightest interested in her....

Cos he's the worst dancer left in the competition. That's how it works. The worst one goes each week.

True enough . It is what it is cherry . It's only a dance show . Jamelia was never my favourite , though I gave her a few sympathy votes a few weeks ago , but had she been kept in over someone I like I wouldn't care too much . None of them would wee on any of us if we were on fire so there's no point getting aerated on their behalf .
I prefer the early weeks when we have the funnity fun amateur dance characters to point and laugh at, cheer on, or dislike . By this stage of the series it gets a bit heavy and every twitch and thumb misplacement is a huge drama to be endlessly dissected .

To my knowledge I have never made a ranting post, and certainly don't go on and on about the same thing. Though I agree it sounds odd and I have never felt this way about any other programme or entertainment.

It has, from the beginnng, been my escape from the reality of my real life, by escaping into another life, that I could believe in for an hour or two each week. Now I do not believe, so Strictly will now be a programme I watch and maybe enjoy, but no longer believe in. Maybe that makes me a little crazy? Perhaps so. but I feel sad because I need that escape, and will miss it. Back to reality 24/7 now.

He messed up his dance off and deservedly went but are you seriously saying Daniel was worse than Jeremy?!

. Rather ironically I've been one who liked her from the get go and have often asked why she has been so consistently unpopular.
The answer is something to do with loose women which I don't watch, never have and never will in case my brain dies, but anyway, I liked jamelia and now that poor old Peter has beaten her. So do all the people who've been ignoring her for weeks

I didn't say you had ranted or gone on, I've never seen you before that I recall and probably wont again.
Don't take things personally, I don't know you
The only people I know on this forum are a couple of friends I have in my life who also use DS. Anyone else is a stranger and I don't keep tabs.

He wasn't in the dance off against Jeremy

I know but if the poster is saying the worst dancer goes out every week it doesn't explain how Jeremy outlasted him, (yes I know it's because he was more popular).

Admittedly he was a better dancer than Kirsty imo but when it counted she was better so he deservedly left.

Couldn't believe what I was hearing. Jamelia danced beautifully - the jete in particular was pure class, bravo. What Peter did was not even recognisable as a jive. Just disgusting - and Bravo Len, who has regained much respect since that silly telling off he gave to Giovanni. I'm genuinely quite upset about this.

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but I feel for you. I think my partner is similarly hurting. "Disillusioned' was the word used, but yes, it's that feeling that something or someone you kind of trusted has betrayed you. Oh, it was never perfect and we gripe every week about the scoring, but whilst we may occasionally disagree with the judges' views we could at least believe they were their honest views, however biased or stupid. But not any more. Now we know they vote how they producers tell them to. And if they vote that way, who says they're not scoring and commenting that way too?

Not a fan of Jamelia, usually like Peter and Janette's routines for performance value, but this jive was badly choreographed (not Peter's fault) and badly danced by him. Yes I know there would have been a gender imbalance if he had gone, but we are not fools, we want proper decisions and if that means nearly all females/males, so be it.

The BBC may try to spin a justification for this farce on ITT but we won't believe it.

There have sometimes been comments from a judge that made it seem they had to save whoever was better in the dance-off, but I don't think this is the first time they've saved the better dancer when they happened to have a bad night.

I think it's always been who do you want to stay.

It's obviously no big deal in the whole scheme of things. But as Melissa says, Strictly was something that brightened up a lot of lives. Yes, it's only an unimportant light entertainment show, but one that had gained a reputation for being impeccably fair and pleasantly good natured. In my opinion that's not something to be tossed away lightly in these cynical times.
I don't "care" about it either, and I don't think it's popularity will be much affected. But I would be kind of sad if it now just becomes bracketed alongside some of the other "reality" dross on tv.

An ending that has left a sour note to a particularly good evening of Strictly dance.

I'm still desperately hoping it wasn't a fix . If just one of the first three judges had saved Jamelia I might have some hope, but I cannot fathom how all 3 have the cheek to say Peter's dance was better then Jamelia's

Perhaps, but that's not how it's been seen here. Here, there have been continual claims that it's fixed, or the judges are saving their favourites rather than the best dancers, and so on. I don't know whether it's been like that every single series, but it goes back for years and as far as I can remember.

Has anyone considered the possibility that maybe the producers and Jamelia came to a mutual decision to put her out of her misery if she ended up in the dance of again? It's not exactly been great PR for her having it reinforced week after week how unpopular she is.

Maybe political correctness gets considered, I don't know, but her ending up in the dance off all the time, because of the public vote, was starting to look more politically incorrect than her just not being there at all.
