I'm still desperately hoping it wasn't a fix . If just one of the first three judges had saved Jamelia I might have some hope, but I cannot fathom how all 3 have the cheek to say Peter's dance was better then Jamelia's

The cynic in me wonders...............

If Craig, Darcey or Bruno had had the guts to vote for Jamelia, would Len have too?
Or toed the party line and saved The Andre?

Hmmm

I love the fact people seem to think Darcey had her head in her hands is somehow proof it was fixed. There was literally tears last week after they voted off Jeremy!

After a night's reflection, I am still angry and still think saving Peter was manipulated/fixed/whatever.

The Dance Off should be about who danced their dance better second time around and not whether the person was a better dancer overall. Jamelia performed her dance really well, Peter didn't. He should have gone.

I am going to make a complaint - I wasn't before. It just wasn't fair.

It was Jamelia's 5th time in the bottom two though and like with any voting competition the much more popular contestant should stay in my view.

Well there a bit more to say, like it was fine and you're all just in strop because the person you've decided to pillory is still in the show.
I think the DO was absolutely as it should be!
Obviously you forgot to put your glasses on last night!!!

The decision was close, Peter throughout the series has been the better dancer, he had more performance in his, the judges would be shocked as it was so close, people love a conspiracy.

Note, FOUR times Jamila was in the DO, so people have not been voting for her, clearly thinking she hasn't too good, or she wouldn't be in the DO four times which is a record. Rather than the public the judges saved her all the previous times.

Of the people pest here, how many voted for her, as clearly people haven't been voting for her before.
All completely irrelevant in this instance. The DO should be judged purely on that one performance, not on previous dances, judges favourites, viewer favourites or even who's the better dancer overall. That clearly didn't happen on Saturday. He was bottom of the leaderboard and the public didn't save him, so they made their views clear but the judges didn't do their job.

There is no doubt in my mind that it was fixed. Any experienced dancer could see that Jamelias routine and the way she executed it was far superior.I think the difference in standard was even obvious to those that do not dance. Peters effort in the DO was worse than the original dance. Shame on the SCD producers and shame on the judges.

To me this is a Gethin/Matt di Angelo moment Buddy The latter mucked up but Gethin was sent packing. Ive never got over that
Same here ....... that was the injustice to top all injustices.

Either they judge on the actual 'dance-off' or they do away with it altogether and just vote on their past performance and reputation. On these two scenarios they seem to flip flop whichever way it suits.

Although I was never that impressed with Jamelia's dancing, she definitely danced more accurately and better than Peter in the dance off,. Many of us on here without a trained eye deduced that too ...... would love to hear Craig, Darcey and Bruno's reasons for voting for Peter, but I'm guessing that we'll never find out.

Meanwhile, it's only a game show,, Peter may be the more entertaining for the show in the long run, and however seemingly unfair on Jamelia, this is nothing compared to what the X Factor dish out on a weekly basis!!

True. The only reason Jamelia survived so many dance offs was because she was the only black celebrity, and the BBC couldn't stomach not having a black contestent for most of the show. .
Only one thing to say to this.

B*ll*x

So as she was not my favourite that blows away your theory
.
It really doesn't. There is no need and no reason to keep one person over another.

It's a very popular light entertainment programme, and despite protestations from a very vocal few people will keep watching irrespective of who gets knocked out (even if it is "their" favourite).

Consequently there is no conspiracy, it isn't a "fix". Simply because there is no need.

But, you know, if you think there is something more insidious (one poster has suggested that it is because she is black) then you have the right to complain to ofcom.

the only reason Peter was saved was because of the male to female ratio
Or that the judges all shop at Iceland.

What's the point of the dance off then? What's the point of any of them actually putting effort in to learn, improve and dance well if all that should matter, in your opinion, is how popular a contestant is? Surely the way they dance is relevant?!

The judges looked ashamed and Bruno said something like "the person that is staying in SCD is..." instead of his usual I would like to save, I thought the judges actions were very odd this week, maybe there is some truth in Ola Jordans suggestion, that the show is fixed. Also there is a lot of comments about Peter being better throughout the series but that is not what they were being judged on, they were being judged on last nights performance and Peter was the worst dancer

then why have a dance off

Just have a straight vote from the public, the lowest voted Celeb is out

Just watched the Results show, absolutely ridiculous. Watching Jamelia in the dance off I was thinking how good it was that we didn't have a duffer at this stage as in previous years we've had "joke" contestants making it to Blackpool. And then we get Peter with his non jive. Say what you like about the choreography but there was no technique in there at all. Truly awful.

Darcey's face during the judging said it all, you could see she was hating having to toe the party line. Whether that's to keep cheesey Pete in or just to have men in the final I don't know, but that was not the judges' opinions.

It's obviously no big deal in the whole scheme of things. But as Melissa says, Strictly was something that brightened up a lot of lives. Yes, it's only an unimportant light entertainment show, but one that had gained a reputation for being impeccably fair and pleasantly good natured. In my opinion that's not something to be tossed away lightly in these cynical times.
I don't "care" about it either, and I don't think it's popularity will be much affected. But I would be kind of sad if it now just becomes bracketed alongside some of the other "reality" dross on tv.
There is no reason it should not continue to brighten lives.
It's no different than it was other than to those who have imagined peter should have gone over jamelia. Accordingly it's only lost to those who choose to be so dramatic about something that is entirely unimportant.

What a lot of rubbish many of you seemed to have decided to imagine.
Darcey can do as she pleases. They are often unhappy sending home somebody they like. The rest of this is fiction.

Peter had the more "in your face" dance and louder music. They say that loud music in dramas stimulates more excitement for the audience. I think this may have swayed the judges somewhat, if they hadn't already decided to save Peter.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily wrong for the judges to consider who is a better dancer overall as opposed to it strictly being judged on the dance off (even if it renders the dance off itself pointless) however I think the judges should actually state this as their reason.

I this case we got no reason at all bar Darcey struggling to say Peter had improved in the dance off which made it seem she didn't even believe it herself.

On this I agree. If they had said, 'based on previous weeks' or something of that ilk, no one (apart from a few I hope) would have batted an eyelid, but because it seems to change from week to week, people can run with the nonsensical 'FIX!!!!' when the result goes a way they don't like.

Sadly this DO is this years Pixie moment - where people have invented a conspiracy theory and have run with it and no doubt we'll be hearing about it for a long time. Longer than we should considering it was Jamelia's 5TH time in the dance off.
