They are being judged on the dance off performance not on every dance they have done... or one bad dance as you put it.

Exactly. Who the hell is looking at Peter Andre when Aljaz is there?

By the rules of the dance off, yes. I don't mind if they change those rules but they should be open and consistent.

I agree it's pointless, but its supposed to make 'exciting' t.v and create little storms like this!

It wasn't a case of one being slightly worse than the other though. Peter was terrible in this dance - I mean, almost at the "no hoper" level.

There was virtually no jive content and what there was he was incapable of performing. The rest of the "dance" was flat footed and off time. Even the little "Tina Turner shimmy" moment looked ridiculous.

On the other hand Jamelia was excellent. Her upper body was great in hold. Her footwork was excellent. She kept time with music and speed of dance, etc.

There was absolutely to comparison between the quality of the two dances.

Judges are supposed to be impartial and mark fairly . Craig, Darcey and Bruno tonight showed they clearly do not judge impartially . They should be ashamed to let their biased views distort their judgement .

It is a fix Jamelia should have stayed even though I like Peter he was the worse

The whole point in having a dance off is the judges basing their decision on how each competitor dances on the night. This decision has made a mockery of the dance off. No way did Pete Andre dance better than Jamelia, he should have gone tonight, regardless of whether he's the better dancer or not.

Yes, I agree.

Lord knows I do not like Jamelia (although whisper it, she is growing on me), but she should still be in as Peter was the worst dancer in the dance off and should have been sent home based on the dance off rules. At least Len said it, Darcy was holding her head too.

The dance off to me is 'pure showbiz nonsense'

I would hope that judges take into account past, present and future potential in their decision.

Most weeks DS have someone who was in the audience, this person is called 'The Mole' and when the show is over transmits the result to the OP of the spoiler thread, however this week there was an added extra comment stating that Jamilia was robbed, and to be truthful, she was.

BBC Strictly comments pages is in meltdown. Have never seen so many posts with so much agreement. And that agreement is...

FIX.

And less than 30 minutes later that page and its comments have mysteriously disappeared!!

There's one positive thing about this. People wanted Jamelia gone for weeks and now she's their hero

It's certainly NOT a case of "biased views" - it was a case of being under instruction. The PTB want to keep PA because of audience ratings.

agree. the dance off is useful when all other things are equal. i always want the better dancer to go through, even if they make more mistakes in the dance off.

Jamelia was better and should have been saved. Shame but we all know Peter is favoured by the Beep.

I must admit it would interesting to actually see the numbers of votes cast. There isn't much time to vote anyway and I don't imagine, for all its popularity, there is a stampede of desperation from Strictly viewers to pick up the phone. What is does seem to say is that Peter doesn't have that much of a cheering section within those who do vote-now more than ever he needed votes-and they didn't arrive. Presumably the panel weren't expecting Peter to be in the bottom two.

As for the dance, Im no expert at all but Peter looked laboured with what seemed a rather thrown together mess of a dance(presumably not his fault in that department). Jamelia did well enough to make the decision somewhat dubious. Clearly Peter is capable of far more than Jamelia but I think like you the GBP have marked his card now

I have a lot of respect for her she has coped very well through all of this. Being in the dance-off so many times could have destroyed her confidence, yet each week she gave it her all. Tonight proved she is a gracious lady, and at least she will go out on a high.

Some people on here don't seem to want to answer this. Ive asked it a few times but its been ignored. It makes the dance off a complete farce

They gave Jamelia the death slot in the running order more than once as well.

Well as Len likes to say, dancing is movement to music. So yeah, by that very basic definition, he DID dance. As for whether he anced better than Jamelia, that's up for debate. He definitely didn't dance his jive steps better than Jamelia dancing the quickstep.

As for subpar routine, if his pro can't showcase his jive ability, that's a problem for BOTH of them.
