Jamelia should have stayed. She was far better, and most importantly improving.

I don't know why they saved Peter. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was an organised fix, but I think there may be an element of some judges doing what they think is 'better for the show'. Who knows? I don't agree with it though.

Very sad for Jamelia though, and not sure it is particularly positive for Peter either, unless he can do something brilliant next week to help redeem the situation, which I suspect is too much to ask.

The answer to that question should be obvious in the words "Dance Off"...

This week was Jamelia's best dance by a country mile, but she should have been voted out a couple of times in the past. The week was Peter's worst dance by a country mile probably partly due to the stupid choreography. I still would have voted Jamelia out as Peter is an overall much better dancer than Jamelia, yes I know the rules, but Jamelia should have been history a few weeks back. She rode her luck.

No point having a dance off if it fails to be used as the criteria for final judges decisions.
The entire results show is rendered pointless as is the dance off itself.

I think we could all do with a bit of that.

Indeed so, but does that mean if a superior performer has a stumble, trip or off day, they should lose out to a inferior overall dancer, it's not so black or white in my opinion.

The dance off just allows the BBC to fill a slot on a Sunday evening, no real use at all.

You seriously think the presence of Peter Andre on the show is drawing in viewers?

WoW!!

Except there's no revenue stream...

Also blatantly not true considering the amount of female winners we've had.”

Every 'reality' show on television is made according to how it's producers want it to be made. I've been an audience member on one or two, although not SCD and there is a lot of manipulation that is never seen by viewers.
Reports suggest that audience reaction after the strange decision by judges was filmed again to portray something other than what actually happened.
The revenue from votes is donated to charity but a high amount of money generated per series would reflect well on producers and go some way to guaranteeing the shows return for more series.
I'm not disputing the fact that females have won the show, I'm suggesting that those who vote regularly may be female.
TBH I don't care either way, I shall never vote for any tv popularity contest although I'm a regular SCD viewer and have been for years. I have as much right to my opinion as anyone else, and in my unbiased and considered opinion based on what was shown on tv the result this week did not accurately reflect the standards of the performances that we saw in the dance off.

not only that, they also appear to believe the judges are told how to vote......

The DO exists solely to generate drama, this should be obvious by now. It's a way to create controversy and get people talking about the show, which we are, so: success!

Well, in their ivory towers, the PTB almost certainly DO think that. I certainly don't, but then I'm not in charge of SCD.

If this is true then surly Peter was there to take part in it ... or did they shoot it after he went back to his dressing room maybe? In any case, whether he was an active participant in the fake standing ovation or not he will know that after he was saved/danced (not sure if you meant the dance or the Judges saving him Skyrah) no one stood up so when he sees it again we can but hope he feels the guilt of what happened, although I doubt it somehow.

Mind you, if this is true, and it must have happened before you would have thought, why hasn't any member of the audience come forward to the papers or social media and said what they witnessed?

In any event Jamelia was truly robbed tonight and anyone involved should have the decency to hang their heads like Darcy did.

Now there's a thing.

The BBC have taken down the Results show item and its associated comments board. Can't see them anywhere.

Almost as if several hundred posters had been screaming "fix" and "you should be ashamed" and the BBC was keen to try and sweep it all under the carpet...

However I have it in my history... Enjoy...

Poor choreography flat footed performance which lacked musicality or any other attractive qualities he was by far second out of two
Peter should have gone or scrap the DO

I couldn't care less who won last nights dance off, but I demand justice for Pixie and Austin now!!!

The reason being she was better in the DO.

I actually feel sorry for Peter. It was the producers decision to keep another male celeb in the show, otherwise we'd just be down to one male celeb left.

It feels to me that there is a wider issue here.....

Hopefully this will give the strictly producers food for thought.......Kellie, Helen, Georgia, Katie and Jay all have some dance experience, as does Peter this makes it harder for celebs with no dance experience at all to pick up the techniques they need to survive into the latter stages of the competition, so what are they to do for the next series?

What about any celebs chosen with no dance experience have a 6 week crash course before the launch show, try and make it a bit more of a level playing field.

Well, he has had professional dance instruction/choreography for the past 20 years (Michael Jackson's), and this is his standard, he ain't getting better 😉

Daniel was a better dancer than Kirsty on the night they faced each other in the dance off imo but based on their dance offs I wouldn't have dreamed of saving Daniel over her.

The same should have applied tonight. I don't know about Peter being worse in the dance off than last night but he certainly didn't improve.

Watching the dance off I asked Mrs Posh what dance she thought Peter was dancing,

"Looks like one of yours" was her reply!

This result was a travesty, makes a mockery of the dance off principle and sadly seems to substantiate what originally looked like nothing more than self publicity sour grapes headlines from Ola.

In so many areas, it does look to me that the producers want to control every aspect of SCD. We've had ludicrous music choices, iffy costumes for some and now the actual result appears to be under their direct control- through their judges, of course.

This year appeared to be a pretty open competition. There were no real donkeys, with quite a few genuine contenders and many showing real improvement and anticipation of a competition with many twists and turns ahead, but this result leaves a real sour taste and it will grate if Peter ends up in the final - as it seems the PTB want.
