She's spoken openly on twitter about loving the show as well as praising the show in interviews on Woman's Hour etc

She's showbusiness royalty, incredibly camp and colourful and I think she'd be perfect for the show!

Joan would be a massive coup for the show but she seems opposed to accepting any offers to appear on Reality TV

Strictly is far classier than other reality TV and I hope she has a change of heart.

Me too, I love Joan.

I'd love to see her in a reality show but there is no way she'd have the energy for Strictly. Some of the 30 and 40 year olds have difficulty getting their breath back after some of the routines. Also, she likes to appear on TV fully glammed up and she couldn't rehearse in her full gear. Am sure that wouldn't bother her if the cameras weren't there when they are rehearsing but that's part of the programme.

god they'd have to take her out the formaldehyde and get her on the cod liver oil.

I love Joan as you know, but we have to be realistic, she will be 83 by the time of the next series, and although she can still do the splits, I doubt if she could keep up with other competitors, some young enough to be her great grandchildren.

Pity the pro who got her, can you just imagine their feelings eh ? Love Joan Collins but I don't want an old woman on the show. It's good this year that the eldest celeb was 58 - most of them are much younger thank goodness. I would go further and stick my neck out to say I would like it if the upper age limit was 50 !

No, no, no, no, no, no!
She is such a conceited, up her on own a##e, diva she would think that people are just honoured to see her and she wouldn't even try to dance - would be even worse than that stupid Italian old woman they had a few years ago (can't remember her name).
Also...pity poor Anton as he'd be the one lumbered with her.

So you have her on a Xmas Special as a one-off doing a slow foxtrot or AS.
Along with Brian Blessed doing a slow waltz.
Then two pretty young things doing jive and quickstep to balance it out: Nadine or Sarah from Girls Aloud and some boybander.
Finally a would-be middle aged future contender for balance, doing a Viennese.

Well, she would certainly be entertaining, but the training schedule is a killer. You know that I am an exercise junkie, but I don't think that I could keep up with those kids.

^^^ This.

They'd be far more likely to get Joan Collins for a Christmas special than for a full series. She's 82, after all, and even the fit youngsters find Strictly to be very hard work physically. June Brown did a very reasonable, gentle tango at age 83 on the 2010 Christmas special, and I'm sure Joan could also do a very nice slow Waltz or Foxtrot or AS on a one-off special, but that would surely be the limit, no matter how fit she may be.

Well, I like to think that I still walk like a young man, and I ran the London Marathon this year, but I doubt that I could keep up with youngsters 40 years younger than me.

Cerys Matthews mentioned on her programme yesterday that she has been asked to take part a couple of times but she said she has no dance ability at all.

Great suggestion -Joan would be a divine perfect fit for the Strictly Christmas special

Oh I think you underestimate yourself Walter -I think you'd be brilliant on Strictly!

I have a feeling she would be like the character Bo Beaumont played by Julie Walters in Victoria Wood's Midlife Christmas.

I remember when Stephanie Beacham was on the show. A lot younger than Joan, and she only lasted a week but she was hilarious with Vincent! Spent quite a lot of time drinking tea as I recall. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of weeks like that with Joan Collins.

Go for it Walter...... you can do a celebrity jungle and be excused from the lifts, seems on there they get excused for any old reason from doing tasks..This woman at 90 is incredible I feel ashamed sitting here on my fat arse.
