Even before Petergate, the cynic in me has always thought that the whatever-athon is there so the judges can "manipulate" the standings without it being too obvious to the viewers.

This ploy has been going on for years now and TPTB must think we are really thick if they don't know that we know EXACTLY what's going on.

I expect Peter to do very well, but I doubt we'll see much of it as the camera angles will protect him.

I give you the carnage of the Viennese waltzathon from series 7.... (watch out for Brian Fortuna).

The comments on that video say Brian and Ali got a 10? Do you not get penalised for colliding with two other couples??

Do we know if they will mark at the end of the QSathon or if they knock people out? I hope its the former.

When they say the floor do they mean Elstree Studios? Because as I got it it's not big enough even for one couple to quickstep there, let alone 7?!

Is it not the same floor that the pro's use for their group numbers ? If so, plenty of space for 7 couples. They will all have a different start position so will all move anti clockwise.

I hate these 'athons. Too much going on at once and the camera's always pointing you to whatever you don't want to watch. Ideally you'd have a big overview (like the judges have), so you could try to compare them. Instead you get snatches of one couple for a 20 seconds, and then another. To be honest, I'd rather sit through another guest artist and pro dance than this.

I am really confused now. Do they have two floors? Do they move the audience then for the Saturday and Sunday recordings?

As far as I am aware, there is only 1 floor at Elstree. the floor is certainly large enough for 7 couples that won't move anything nearly as much as pro's - they use this same floor for the Pro group numbers, both ballroom and latin, so will be large enough.

I think they should use the 3D camera for that one.

It's my favourite ballroom dance so I'm a bit put out by the thought of the carnage!

Though no doubt it will be hilarious!
Think that's the PTB intention - good TV.

Jay and Peter are at a disadvantage as they have to lead and avoid, as well as remember what they're doing too.

Jay looked very concerned when Kevin said it would be carnage!

At least Jay can properly lead Aliona, whereas I very much doubt Peter has actually been leading Janette in any of their dances!
