Are active Corrie actors not permitted to be in the audience?

Pretty sure the only one I've seen showing Georgia support is her boyfriend Sean Ward, who's already left the soap.

I presume those taking part in the programme are given a number of tickets to pass on to friends and family so it will be up to them who the tickets go to. I can't imagine the BBC barring people working for ITV, sure there have been some in the audience previously.

Anthony Cotton was in the audience the year that Lisa Riley danced.

I'm sure the actress who plays Fizz was in the audience early in the series.

If there is a ban, I can't think of a better reason than wanting to avoid this attention seeking talent void getting free airtime!

There is definitely a ban on current ITV soap actors taking part in Strictly, for obvious logistic reasons, but it would have to be really petty to stop them being in the audience.

If you think back, I cannot recall many "support messages" for Natalie (Gumede) from her Corrie co-stars when she was in Strictly.

I can't imagine there'd be any sort of ban, no.

If this were true, the news of it would have been made public by the press by now. I doubt the Beeb would risk losing a huge audience just for a petty dig at a rival broadcaster.

Agreed, considering that various BBC programmes regularly have people promoting their appearances on ITV programmes. I don't what schedule they work to but couldm just be awkward for them to get down to London for the Saturday programme but the whole cast could be sitting in the front row and I would not recognise any of them.

Alledgedly, when Ant and Dec go to watch the show they can't be shown in the audience because of their ITV contract.

If that's true, it is pathetic.

Exactly, which is why I added this to my message.
