After last night debacle of a DO everyone was expecting it to be emblazoned over the front pages of the usual suspects this morning ... but so far I cannot find a thing about the anger over Jamelia's dismissal from the show.

Lots of coverage about how she was the next to go, how Peter's dance was odd, but nothing at all about the explosion of discontent focused on the BBC after the show. Maybe someone else has found something?

The only thing I did find concerning the BBC getting in trouble on Saturday was the death of Clara Oswald on Doctor Who. Supposedly her death caused trauma to loads of kids and parents were phoning in about it <scratches head> Maybe the Beeb can only handle one crisis at a time on any given day.

No it's really not a big a deal as the forum is making it out to be.

Perhaps papers feel they should occasionally cover what actually happened rather than online outrage. "Explosions of discontent" are so common online that they seldom deserve coverage. It would be more worthy of coverage if Peter had gone, since one of the best dancers would have gone because of incompetent choreography.

I think it's a case of "and meanwhile, in the real world..."

I'm surprised too but I think a lot of what is written about the show is done on a Saturday. There may not have been time to collect information for a story and they would like to speak to as many people as possible. However, I would think that anyone involved with the show, celebrities and professionals alike, have been told that they are not to discuss the matter.

It was all over Twitter last night and considering the Daily Mail can usually manufacture a 'twitter outrage' story out of about 4 cut and pasted tweets its a bit odd that they haven't done anything about this. Especially as they usually like an opportunity to get at the BBC.

That's arguable; I think he's just a better version of Lisa Riley - all energy and very little technique.

Just so - it doesn't matter in the real world.

The BBC hasn't been fiddling anything - the decision was clear for all to see.

Whether it was the right decision to save Peter who has done better dances in the past or to save Jamelia, who did the best dance but would be in another dance-off next week, I don't know.

Jamelia has gone out on a high and acted with dignity - she's probably won in the end.

(I hope they keep Tristan though, he's hilarious)

You've got to be joking!! he's the worst, and with any luck he will be gone next week.

Theres also a lot of comments on the BBC blog so its hardly just on this forum. As you say, I cant imagine the papers passing this up.

I agree that there are a lot worse things going on in the world but to me its all down to fairness.

For some reason most of them seem to be obsessing over terrorist threats.

Given that awful DM 'people who have risen to the occasion' article, I doubt they'd be in a rush to print anything anti-Andre...

Twitter gets its knickers in a twist over a lot of things though and the Daily Mail only really care if people get offended. If people were complaining because Peter hugged Anton you bet they'd pick up on it but people online disgruntled over the result I can't seem them being bothered with. Especially when it was an expected result anyway.

Don't think for a moment that I don't appreciate the crap that's happening around the world at the moment and yes, definitely it should be front page news, without question.

My point is that on previous experience, and I think everyone would agree with this, the scandal rags LOVE to get their teeth into anything controversial like this, even if its buried in their celebrity section somewhere in the middle of the paper. And I think based on the outpouring of frustration and ager last night over pretty much every social media outlet they should have mentioned something. They certainly have not been shy to write about SCD scandal in the past now have they? They put Ola's interview in the paper after all.

The papers are so in love with Andre (voluntarily or paid off?) that it was unlikely to kick off. They'd much rather print stuff about who is Jay has bedded this week or have nasty digs at Kristina.

Indeed, He's better then Katie, arguably, in Latin, miles behind in ballroom. Georgia is far better over both and she's much better at the explosive, fast dances then he is, although that's meant to be more his forte, Anita is stronger over both as well, and sells a dance as good, if not better, then him. Helen, on her day and her dance, is far better over both, although more prone to have a wobble then him and fall apart, and Jay is light years ahead in both. Who on earth is he stronger than

There was actual jive in that routine, Janette was certainly doing jive steps, just Peter wasn't.

But yes, considering the stick certain papers like to beat the Beeb with, and the already mentioned 'outrage' over Clara's death in Dr Who, it does seem very strange that at least some papers aren't picking up on the 'on line' outrage in their reviews of the programme.

Yeah exactly its a story end of .....and of course the Daily mail would normally cover it

I'd say the powers that be control what good and bad stories are released, much like Xfactor

A couple of weeks ago, he was top of the leader-board, and last week he was in a tie for 2nd.

For some reason -- it's never been adequately explained -- he's very unpopular in this forum; last night was a chance for him to go, and so there's annoyance that he stayed.

What mysterious "powers" do you think are preventing the Mail from attacking the BBC over it? It seems much more likely that even the Mail can see there's no real story here.

I think it's more accurate to say there's annoyance that he stayed because Jamelia was notably better than him in the dance-off, and the judges suddenly changed the "on that dance only" rules to keep in the marginally stronger dancer overall. Although seeing how much Jamelia was improving, especially in ballroom, while Peter seems to be treading water at best - whatever his scores might say - that definition may be up for debate.
