Nice to see the subtle humour from Jay that so many adore....

For those who missed the show, Jamelia also said

"This is the way I'd like to go out, at Blackpool ....... in a blaze of controversy"

One thing they couldn't edit, was the roar of approval from the crowd when Len said he would have saved Jamelia.

Which compared to the muted response they gave Peter for getting through was very telling.

Shock story - Strictly isn't "fair"!! Who'd have thought! They'll be telling us the Sunday show isn't live next.

Can't stand Peter but I'm actually glad he went through now.”

Gone right off her again after that unladylike load of sour grapes . Pretending to be gracious and warm and fluffy on the night then stick the knife in from the safety of not needing to be face to face with the rest of the contestants or judges again . Then add a twee "not taking it away from anyone " rubbish at the finish of her interview . That's the jamelia we know and saw go in there . No fat clothes on the high street and no big doggies poops so she can't be offended . Tacky and classless to the end .

WOW! The "spoiler mole" really is good isn't he/she?

Going on the standard of the dance off, she should have been saved a 5th time too.

“ Get the message, public were not voting for you.”

Given that he was in the bottom 2, doesn't look like they're voting for Peter either. He'll need to rely on the judges overmarking again to keep him out of the DO.

Jamelia's restraint was admirable, under the circumstances.

Haven't watched it yet, but I'm glad the show was live and she had the chance to tell the truth about what happened. Didn't Ashley TD make a comment about some sort of manipulation but it got edited out? On a subsequent ITT he alluded to having to watch what he said as he'd previously been naughty and said something TPTB weren't happy with. Anyone got a clearer recollection of this?

That was a sympathy vote . For goodness sake the man missed helen nearly falling on the stairs and messing up badly . Not the most observant man .

HoHoHo Jamelia is not going down well with the Peter apologists, really didn't think she would stand up for herself so brilliantly, Go Girl

It had to be said, the controversy had to be cleared up and she made full use of the live show to do it, both she and Tristan. I have to admire the guts of Tristan to actually not only back Jamelia up but also to weigh in with his own comments. Jamelia is out of it now, picks up her pay cheque and waves goodbye, but he is still in and has to face his bosses about his comments.

Her comment about the reshoot of the SO for Peter has now put paid to all those Peter supporters who claimed it was a baseless allegation and just more crap being thrown at Peter. Well, no, now we know it actually happened and it was stated on live TV for all to hear. Those on here trying to cover and duck with 'oh they probably do it all the time', once again, no, actually if they did I am sure we would have all heard about it before now with other contestants leaving. And why would they want to reshoot to get a 'better reaction' from the crowd?! Thats ludicrous, they always get some reaction, the crowd always applaud no matter what, why not be happy with a normal round of applause? Well because they needed to make it look like the 'people' wanted Peter to go through, that's why.

Tristan stating they knew they were going out so they decided to go out on a high kinda adds fuel to the fire Ola's remarks in the paper began, that's its all a fix. Him saying they could of either sat around all week on their asses and done nothing or practiced to do a great dance makes you wonder when exactly they found out they were leaving? At the start of the week?

And I feel she was very gracious in making sure Peter and Janette knew this was not aimed at them, they made sure that everyone knows they like and support Peter. Both of them know where the blame lays, at the feet of the Producers and after tonight's ITT there are going to be some pretty heated talks going on behind the scenes I have no doubt.

She's been in enough dance offs to know that wasn't normal procedure and if the judges were planning to send Peter home .. then no standing ovation would add weight to their decision (the audience didn't like it either.)
To make the audience stand for an ovation makes the dance look as if it was better received than it was ... there can be only one reason for that.

It would look even more iffy if the judges chose to save the couple who didn't get a standing ovation. They tried to fix it so that didn't happen.

She was talking about the manipulation of the judges tonight.
Didn't you get that? I'm surprised, I thought it was clear enough.”

I was talking about being in the bottom 5 times and being saved 4 times. How many times did she want to be saved??. I think judges were right to save Peter, who had a bad night.
If not for the dance off, the other system, person with least amount of total votes, she would have gone long ago.

It just needs to be made clear that the choice of who to save is not based on how someone performs on the night.

This then raises the question of why have a dance off at all if it isn't going to determine who goes through and who gets sent home.”

Exactly - I always thought it was who did the best DO regardless of previous form. Otherwise no DO needed, judges could just make their decision between the two lowest.

But there IS a dance off, and the best dance off stays. She had a right to be saved every time she was better than the other one.
What don't you understand here?

& Peter would have gone on Saturday as he doesn't have the support and votes that some assume he has.

And Zoe didn't know what to do with herself

Here's exactly what she said

"!I think we did a great last dance, it wasn't until they re-recorded Pete's standing ovation that was the moment I realised we were going home"

That's confirming what people who were at the show said . When Pete finished his dance he didn't get a standing ovation so the producers made the audience give a standing ovation .

What a farce . A standing ovation should be spontaneous and freely given, not something demanded by the producer .

Also confirms they had it planned for Peter to go through .

I understand perfectly. I also think as judges they should be able to protect a better overall dancer. That was the very reason the dance off was introduced. They had to choose between a person being in the dance off week in week out whether Ballroom or Latin and the other having a bad day.

they re-shoot bits of TV shows all the time, this is only 'newsworthy' if it can be shown to be unusual, and i doubt it is. the Sunday night show is ALWAYS heavily edited as is completely obvious.

Funny you should say that Heatherbell, when you have said the above on the Daily Mail site.

To bring what up

Completely ungracious of a producer to demand a standing ovation of an audience .
Making a mockery of the standing ovation . A standing ovation should be spontaneous and freely given, not demanded .
