Just thought of an (admittedly silly) Continuity Error...

Twelve's outfit change make sense. He said he was going for minimalist. But then two people pointed out that he looked like a magician! After the second time (which was Shona in Last Christmas), he decided to change his look, hence the scruffier look in series 9. For Face the Raven, I can only guess that he knew that "Local Knowledge" (Rigsy) would expect him to look smart - so back to the button up look he goes.

I think Capaldi should stick to his hoodie look I think it suits him and his puffed up hair he looks bonkers like that.

So "The Girl Who Died" at least must be from earlier in the Doctor's Timeline probably "The Woman who Lived" as well.

So then we're talking about the Doctor's timeline going.

Last Christmas
The Girl Who Died
The Woman who Lived
Face the Raven
The Magician's Apprentice
The Witches Familiar
rest of series 9 eps.

which is a bit too mixed up.

Plus one of the clues that led to this theory was that the Doctor was dressed more like he was in Series 8 for "Face the Raven" and adopted the more scruffy look after Clara died. However the start of FtR had him dressed the same as most series 9 episodes.”

Yes, from things the Dr said in other episodes (about mourning clara for about a month for example and I think he also said how much he'd missed her and clara said he was a silly old man cos she wasn't going anywhere ) I was convinced that clara was dead and that the earlier episodes were him going back earlier into her timeline to see her again but that business with ashildr seems to have put paid to that? but you could well be right with your order of episodes, that might then make some sense of it all! I'd be a bit annoyed of there hasn't been some jumping around, it's clear that the doctor has been very sad at times when he has been around clara, like he knew what was coming.
