She can only do so much with the training time the celeb gives her (which can't have been much judging from Peter's schedule last much) and the ability of the celebrity - Peter's never seemed a particularly natural dancer and constantly talks about how long it takes him to learn things and how easily he forgets technique. As far I see it, the ITT clips of their training showed she was teaching him technique, it just never materialised on the night in the few recognisable jive steps there were (which she would have known by that stage of the week was likely to happen, and could even have removed content as a result - who knows if what we saw was what she originally planned?) and she had to divert the attention onto herself through what and how she danced to try to cover for him.

I do like Janette and do feel sorry for her, they generally devise routines that their celebrities can do so its highly likely that she did a non-Jive because Peter wasn't up to the job.

Aljaz & Janette write a weekly online blog for OK! and in it Janette admits that Peter struggled with the routine all week. Interestingly she praised Jamelia's performance but fails to gush over Peter as is the usual practice in these cases... I think she knows full well that it stinks.

Precisely. To say most of the blame lies with Janette is nonsense.

Is Natalie rubbish because she couldn't turn Ainsley or Wonnacott into good dancers? Is Aliona rubbish because she couldn't get a good performance out of Tony Jacklin or Gregg Wallace?
Of course not.

No, he hasn't actually got the talent. You cannot polish a turd. He can't even manage a jive step.

His limit is basic hip hop and, yeah, that's about it. Oh yes, the gurning too!

The continuing nastiness towards Peter is baffling to me, as is all the conspiracy nonsense - he's a z-list numpty, with no power over the judges, the BBC or anyone else associated with Strictly. Basically, the person who'd been in the DO 4 times (against the no-hopers) was finally put out of her misery in her 5th DO! It's hardly rocket science - though people are still tying themselves in knots trying to make it into some insidious conspiracy, because they don't like the celeb who was saved!”

HUH, a sensible post on the these silly Scd forums. This post sticks out like a turd in a perfume shop. Congrats!

Exactly - on ITT tonight Janette tried to do her best out of a bad (controversial) situation
