Maybe because they are relevant to the show and hence this forum.

Implying that a contestant meant violence to a toddler crosses the line. We all know he didn't, the mother knows he didn't, I imagine the producers know he didn't.

Besides people were making some very sick jokes on that thread.
The thread was mostly people (me included) supporting his right to have a *bad* sense of humour. I don't think anyone thought he meant it literally.

Have the BBC deleted ITT?

Ok then delete the posts not the whole thread.
It's not my decision. The mods decide what is acceptable or not.

Dear me there are a lot of posters threatened by Jay's popularity, aren't there!

Not that there is any requirement to like him, of course, or any of the other celebrity dancers.

It's when the posts become nasty spiteful and personal that the mods have had to close threads.

Anyone who could read anything into Jay's comments last night more than a young man expressing himself badly amazes me, frankly but there you go.

Some of the stuff in the Jay thread was bordering on libellous.

People just don't like Peter Andre, deal with it.
No it wasn't and I read all of the pages as was on it from early on.

It just descended into multi-mickey taking and bordering on sick jokes - that's why it got deleted I imagine.

No conspiracy here - walk on, nothing to see...........................

Yes, but posting libellous comments could get the owners of this forum into serious trouble.

People slating Peter isn't the same thing.
I seriously think you need to look up the term you are flinging about like confetti..........
(although I'm sure you would always find a scumbag lawyer to take your money if you wanted to give it away)

The mods have to be alerted though, they don't read through all the threads. Every anti-Jay thread has been removed on here.

There are threads still standing where users make claims that Peter has planted stories, influenced the judges vote, and acted aggressively towards other contestants/pros.

There isn't any concrete evidence for any of it, so does that not constitute libel in the same way as the Jay thread?

In which case, I can only imagine the jokes made in the thread caused it to be removed.
I've no idea. Why don't people take it up with the mods if they've got a problem. No one here has got the answer.

It's a good point.

I could find posts in Jay's own Appreciation Thread which were as strong on the subject as any in that thread.

If it was the jokes, I guess that makes sense. They came in party spirit with Jay's prompting and they were (like his comment) a little transgressive.

I have complained to mods myself a handful of times on different matters and only once did I get a "result". So I think the mods are well trained in what is acceptable and what is not. I think it is rare that an entire thread is deleted and so I have to assume that if it is deleted, it deserves to me.

No-body minds a bit of mickey taking, if it is left at that.

Not being an arse licker here (but Mods, may I just say, you are all looking particularly attractive today) .... I guess on a thread which is over 10 pages long, it's a lot easier to delete the whole darn thing rather than trawl through every post.

But only Sir Jay is allowed to say them

I'm honestly not sure what happened to that thread. By the end of it, it was just people making jokes. There are plenty of threads that stray from the original topic on this forum. Probably best not to question any decisions made here...you won't get a real response.
I think you'll find the joke-tellers had come over from the "other" Jay appreciation thread with the intention to shut the discussion down. Classic tactic, job done.

Maybe if FMs who want to diss Jay (who seems a perfectly decent chap and a great dancer to me), could start up their own "This is definitely not an Anti-Jay Thread"- it might gain immunity? Just a thought.

Yes, I'm well aware of where the posters (whistle blowers) came from.

That thread sounds like a wonderful idea, the only problem is that people do have other things to discuss than just Jay. When you make a comment like he did, it is of course going to spark a reaction.

I liked the one about "what is red and can't turn round in a corridor?"

Well I thought the one thread I was following was done and dusted when a fellow Nottinghamite explained the phrase is a regional thing and anyway ,the nature of some of the posts went, for me,beyond the pale.
Any 'joky' derailing of the thread I indulged in was just spontaneous tomfoolery and, just for the record,I am not a Jay fan: he has graceful arms and nifty foot action but,for me dances like a bewildered 12 year old whose been dragged along to the ballroom by that sassy girl from the fifth form.
