I watched the first 3 or 4 episodes. I have to ask, "Does it get any better?"
It seems to me like a live action version of a Saturday morning kids cartoon action/adventure/superhero series. All the characters stand about earnestly telling each other their backstory. They also tell each other, via tons of exposition, what they're feeling right now, like some Australian soap opera - instead of showing us. They all seem like cardboard cutouts instead of living, breathing, believable characters. I got the Prison Break reference and earlier references to Superman and Batman. Why does Captain Cold have to talk through his nose all the time? Does he actually have a cold? ![]() I liked the premise enough to give it a try, but the casting and execution seem poor. |

Having said that, I really enjoyed the latest episode. There was a lot of humour and it was a departure from the usual Vandal Savage stuff which, of necessity, is never going to go anywhere as, as soon as it does, the point of the show is over! |

Thanks for that, Thrombin. After your comments and some others up-thread on the latest couple of eps, I think I will try a couple more eps.

I am trying to like the show, but I am now struggling, last nights was an improvement but I am getting very close to dropping it, like I have done with Supergirl.
how I would rate the shows. 1. Arrow 2. The Flash 3. Legends (on the brink) 4. Supergirl (dropped) |

I thought last week was so good with mr cold shooting his friend. But yesterdays episode was awful. The lesbian kiss. The hawk girl and savage and their strange denial about knowing each other. The last 5 minutes was good. But that was it.

I don't think he shot and killed him, if he did we would have seen it.

Happy to be corrected if I am wrong though. Quote:
I don't think they were denying that they knew each other. Hawkgirl was just pretending she didn't know him and Savage was playing along until it fitted his purpose

I liked the premise enough to give it a try, but the casting and execution seem poor. Nice idea but hideous implementation. Writing is terrible and the whole thing has been pointless with zero payout. And Darvill is just awful as Rip. |

Couldn't agree less with the above.
Okay, it's not going to win any awards anytime soon but it's harmless enough and passes an hour. Personally that's enough for me. I watch TV to be entertained. |

It's light heartened entertainment. I like the gritty and dark stuff like Daredevil and The Walking Dead etc but it's good to have a fun show like Legends of Tomorrow where I can switch of my brain for an hour and just enjoy this show.

I liked the 1950's episode, and the jokes to Back to the Future in it as well.

No. It's really utter crap that has absolutely no substance.

Ah now this I can't agree with. I absolutely love LoT, it's just pure cheesey entertainment and makes me smile and laugh more than any of the other comic book adaptations on screen atm.
Exactly, I love that they're a hopeless bunch of supposed "legends" who spend more time mucking it up than getting it right. I love the irony and the pop culture references. They all have feet of clay, 'legends' or not, and the exploration of that is more interesting than the average 'superheroes' show. (Poor old Ray! He really did want to mark those college papers, didn't he? He loved that job. And I chuckled at the Bill Gates bit... ) Although I agree with others that Arthur Darvill is a bit weak - I'm just not sure he has the chops for the Rip role?
