So Len has finally been wheeled out to have his say on the controversy. If you still don't believe it's not been in some way fixed then I think SCD is a lost cause for you.

Believe him/don't believe him, there's not much more can be said on the issue.
(Personally I still can't see any possible reason the BBC would be bothered enough about keeping Pete in to cause all this uproar.)

One thing to come out of it, the judges will now explain their votes at the Dance Off stage. I think that will be good!!

He was open, honest and true, putting the " lies" here, and in the papers to bed.

I believe him when he says they vote according to the dance off - Begs the question why 3 judges didn't bother too.

He explained that, very well, some will not believe the Truth.

No it's not, clearly some here have got it wrong, they are trying to be open and honest to explain what occurred.

I agree. He didn't seem convincing to me at all. I also don't believe him.

Me neither. Why half this forum suspect a conspiracy on every corner mystifies me.

If that is the case I give Len a 2/10

Yes, except that I've always found it refreshing that we just get a 'name' from the judges and not the ramblings you get from the X Factor lot when giving their choice in the 'Sing Off'

I do not think it was a fix, but he did mention that the producers tell them to judge the Dance off without taking into account what has gone before on previous shows.

Reading between the lines I felt that he hinted that this may not have been done.

I think the baby-worship of some contestants or the utmost hatred of others flood the collective frontal cortex and all higher reasoning powers. The amygdala is running the forum.

I say this kindly and with respect but it doesn't matter - its a telly show. Nobody is going to die, you won't have to live under the 'wrong' government for 5 years, it won't even cost you any money. Life is short.. when you are facing the tinal curtain is this going to matter?

And why it took until Wednesday to address it, or even mention it at all. Given the amount of people that were upset about it, me included, there couldn't possibly be such a simple explanation. Forget the standing ovation, that's incidental, the main issue was the voting, and the fact that the judges simply gave the name, without explanation. They all usually say something, e.g. such a body improved, or such a body danced worse

Yes there were only 2 points in it, but they were in Jamelia's favour, and no way did PA redeem himself by that much in the DO, if at all

Why Len, though? Why not one of the other three to explain THEIR vote?

I was impressed they addressed all the questions head on. I totally believed Len, he didn't skirt round the questions, like he said it's all down to personal opinion. Hopefully it will be the end of it now and we can get back to enjoying the show.

From someone, who doesn't care either way, they really can't win. If nobody comments on the "controversy" then they have something to hide. If someone does say something, then it smacks of desperation.

As someone who doesn't like Jamelia, her dance off was better than Peter (at least to my untrained eye). However, I and the judges disagree very often (well they don't know it, but we do), so I'm not surprised I'm disagreeing with them here. Len was right about one thing, the dance had only been two points apart in the main show, so it's not like the biggest surprise in history.

I think their explanation regarding the re-shoot made sense. I've taken part in one TV programme, and this is exactly what happened. It's TV and the Sunday show is not life.

Sorry to keep quoting you but for this, you get these 💐

Len was hopeless and made things worse with his contradictory explanations and attempts at justification for a decision that most people could see wasn't based on the available evidence.

As for the BBC bullshit about the reshot standing ovation for Peter ...

Yeah - that happens every week. It had nothing to do with the lukewarm response from the audience being juxtaposed with saving Peter and Janette

That's true

Although he is the 'Head Judge' don't you know

So Len came on, explained himself and answered questions., yet people are still wittering on about it. What do you want the BBC to do? Maybe a ceremonial burning of effegies on the judges with the devil incarnate himself Peter at the top of the pile. Truly sad that some are so obsessed it is ridiculous.

It was unfortunate that he said at one point that the judges comments are not scripted because I simply don't believe that is literally true - the judges have scripted jokes for eg. I'm sure he meant that their marks aren't scripted but it wasn't what he said.
