I think the claim was that the audience reaction was re-shot, not the entire dance. Someone has suggested they could have re-filmed the end section of the dance along with the 'improved' audience response, and that is what is shown in the long shot, but that would be quite complicated to do and in any case, the camera long shot shows exactly what the programme showed before the cut away.

So either it's all very carefully, expertly and unseamably faked, from more than one set of footage, to what end is unknown, or the long shot is the genuine article. I go for the latter.

It's a totally recorded programme, with hours in which to edit re-edit or what have you.
You can't believe everything you see. It's not quite "Finchamgate." But you have to form your own opinions.
Go back a few years and The BBC didn't even admit that the results show was recorded Saturday night. Although I think they did say, when this hit the press, "we never said it wasn't."
They still bang on about, "last night." after all these years,

We need to take this to court. Someone grab some non-strictly fans from the Apprentice forum they can be on the jury. I'm sure we can get Judge Rinder to come look over the case. Someone find the spoiler mole we'll need them to submit their witness statement along with Jamelia. The BBC have given us their video evidence which will be sent off to forensics. All we need now is the "Its a FIX" side and the "Its NOT a fix" side to establish their legal teams.

The bottom line is that's still deliberate deception by the BBC.

There's certainly a lot of crowd applause audio overlay used in the results show. With the Andre SO insert, the original audio is overlaid as it's seamless, and when Tessbot walks out and you see the judges clapping, there's clearly been a good 5 minute break while the floor's cleared, but again the audience audio carries on from Andre's DO applause.

Why would you believe some random person who in essence is just someone who cannot keep the result to themselves over what you can clearly see with your own eyes? You do not know this 'mole' so have no idea what they really saw and also how they interpret the normal works of a tv show.

It is clear the audience stand up at the end and countless people have said so who were there.

To this I would like to add the detail (if I'm remembering correctly) that the mole (a short wee creature to start with) was positioned behind cameras and not allowed to stand.

Whether the cameras would impede their view or not is something we cannot know.

I wish more people who were actually there that night would say something. Considering the hundreds of people in that ballroom you would imagine someone after all this outrage in the press and on social media would think 'maybe I should put the record straight', but nothing, silence.

And I'm not just referring to those who feel the SO was fixed, what about all those who could say it wasn't? Their version is as important as the other and would settle this one way or the other. So hundreds of people have gone silent about it other than the mole? Were they told to stay silent? Does what happens in the Strictly ballroom stay in the Strictly ballroom?

Wrong, some were sitting and those that are sitting usually stand for a DO in previous dances .

I think that was someone elses story about being thee and thee being a standing O but they wee not allowed to stand.

Ummm, because it is some random person you have never met before in your life and you have no idea who their bias is for, they could be Jamelia fans and hate Peter, so they may have a hidden agenda.
Just because they said who was bottom two does not mean they will report everything truthfully, you do not know these people at all, so to trust everything they say as true is very naive.

I think possibly the camera guys used the 4 minutes of props removal to get better views of family and other celebs . As we've seen, they like those kind of 'spot the celeb' moments .At one recording (not of strictly) our section were told not to stand up at any point because it blocked the fixed camera sight line to a local political bigwig in the audience .
As I said on sunday night , it's difficult to believe a version of events from someone when they are using derogatory names about one of the two celebs in the dance off anyway .Just a personal foible of mine, but once you go that route ( nicknames) any further debate is tainted for me and I cash out .
Now that I've seen that wide angle unedited shot from the show done immediately at the end of the dance I feel my instincts were correct and the whole conspiracy theory has now been blown out of the water .Nor has anyone confirmed the "boos" claim .
Just my opinion , but each to their own view and I know the conspiracy theory will rumble on despite definitive proof being thrown at it from everywhere .

To me, it's like editing an interview. You use the person's real words. If you're responsible, of course you match the answers to the questions (and to the intent) but you can move around text if the speaker has wandered away and then back to their idea; add in their after-thoughts; tidy up grammar; generously remove idiotic bits or suggest a better phrase... This is an edit but it most definitely has the truth in mind.

I don't know anything about how filming works but the ethos seems the same.

ETA unless the nickname is affectionate (like PashPot, for example) I agree altogether with you on that.

What are you on about? The front rows next to and opposite the judges are seated when the music is playing. When the music stops they stand.I'd screen cap it if I wasn't on my phone.

I think the most plausible scenario is that when they reshot the end there was probably a lot of confusion and probably gossip in the crowd as to why they've reshot. The crew have probably asked the same people who stood before to stand again for, continuity, obviously adding fuel to the fire. Rumours run rife throughout the crowd reaching the mole and Jamelia herself.

Boom! Sounds the most plausible thing I've heard all week. I can't believe people are still disputing the footage. Why would the bbc go to the lengths of editing it to prove them innocent when potentially hundreds more people could have (but haven't!!!) come out exposing it as faked, making matters 100 x worse.

This post is an example of observation bias, as is anyone who cannot see the rows of people standing up on the judges side.

Lord knows to me it wasn't worth a standing O, but then again neither was Jamelia's, they give them too much now, it used to be reserved for something VERY special, now they will get up for any old tosh.

I just think it all depends on what you think a true standing ovation is, I've seen one and if it is spontaneous the majority of the audience stand in a whoosh together with a few stragglers who stand up after cos they don't want to look stupid There was a SO to the right but very delayed and probably filtered down from Peter's friends and family who are further off the screen to the right. It certainly wasn't spontaneous and I don't know why they bothered reshooting to be honest since in the DO they don't pan to that section of the audience anyway,.

What does even qualify as a standing ovation on this show ? All your family and friends standing up ? Half of the audience ? A quarter of the audience ? Most of the audience ? 2 or 3 people standing up ?
