Garbage

I think the band Garbage are so underrated and under-appreciated these days. I think they've made consistently brilliant music over the past 20 years and Shirley Manson is truly one of the best band frontwomen ever. I really love their album Not Your Kind Of People, which seemed to be virtually ignored, which is a shame. The band are as good as ever! Anyone else here love them?

Interesting, I hadn't thought about them for years until I came across Shirley being interviewed by Craig Ferguson on youtube. Hilarious, there's a whole series of them.

Have always loved Garbage and I agree they have been criminally underrated!

'You look so fine' is one of my all-time favourite songs......and IMO they also made the best ever Bond theme in 'The world is not enough'

Not your kind of people was an incredible album, 'I hate love' being my favourite track

The good news is it looks like we're getting a new album in 2016!

Loved their first two albums, but felt the third album 'Beautiful Garbage' was a massive error (some good songs, but a lot of misjudged stuff). While the next two albums (Bleed Like Me, Not Your Kind of People) were an improvement but I never thought they came anywhere near capturing the quality of those first two albums, where even the B-sides were great.

One of their big problems was they always take an age between albums!

i thought they lived up to their name - sorry.

I think they are amazing. I saw the recent 20th anniversary show where they played all of their debut and B sides and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to.

They are definitely underrated. I think because they aren't pop enough for the pop fans, but not alternative enough for indie types so there are in a weird no mans' land.

The only album I don't like too much is their last one Not My Kind of People. It tried to recapture their old sound too much and failed.

I heard they are making another album. I hope it is better than NMKOP which I"m sure it will be since it's the only album by them I don't like.

I still regularly listen to their first two albums.

Milk is still one of my favourite songs of all time, infact it's the first song I think of when I think back to the 90's.

another big garbage fan here

saw them live a few times back in the day , songs like push it and cherry lips were great live

as an aside, on the beautiful garbage CD there was an unlisted bonus track of them doing a cover of this

i lost some of my CDs when i moved and never been able to find their version of it anywhere online and it was a great cover

I have their first 3 albums. All excellent albums. Cherry Lips (Howie B remix), Special, Only Happy When It Rains.... I could go on.

They came out with some great singles. They do seem to have been forgotten about by popular memory which is a shame as they were great.
