orange to ee using third party and oac code

I am currently on Orange (sim only contract) and have moved house where reception is awful inside the house (despite the service website stating that it should be 4G here) so wanted to upgrade to EE to take advantage of the wifi calling.

When I called them the plans weren't great, essentially I'd be paying more for less minutes and data.

Looking around online and at the corporate package at work, I can get a better sim only deal than EE will give direct, so my question is

Can I cancel with orange and get a pac
then sign up with EE and keep the number?

The lady on the phone said that this isn't possible and to upgrade from Orange to EE I had to do it on the phone with one of their naff packages, I suspect that she was telling porkies.

Orange is part of EE, so you would need to upgrade. Your other option would be to port the Orange number elsewhere (Giffgaff is a good option as you can immediately get a PAC from them) and then port back to EE from them.

I moved in an EE store from an Orange SIM only to an EE SIM only. Just call 150 back and get someone else!

Work out which SIM only you want from the list on the EE site first, here, Pay Monthly voice and data SIMs - either 30 day minimum contract, or 12month min contract:

The OP doesn't want a standard price plan if you read post #1...

Doh, I read it twice just in case and both times missed that. Guess your idea of PAC out to another network for 30 days and then back as a new connection is probably only way to do it.

Depending on what phone you have, I believe, Wifi calling might not work on a Sim only package.

Good point. There is a list of compatible phones on the EE website here

http://ee.co.uk/help/phones-and-device/wifi-calling

The other thing from that webpage is that it appears WiFi calling only works on EE branded versions of Android and Windows OS on phones bought direct from EE. Though it doesn't mention any similar restriction on iOS on iPhones.

No such thing as a network branded or modified iPhone, that would go against Apple's design.

EE WiFi calling works on 5c, 5s, 6, 6+, 6s, 6s+ phones. 30day SIM only or higher (not available on PAYG I believe).

It works on all contracts, including sim only.
