  • I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
Why are they called celebrities

I have never understood why the contestants are called celebrities. The only names I recognise are Chris Eubank and Duncan Ballantyne and not sure why he ever wanted to appear on this program. To me they are just people trying to get a bit of cheap fame.Who remembers previous winners and what happened to them.Who the heck is Lady C and why is she a celebrity.

Some are just professional turn up to the opening of an envelope participants.

That's what I mean nobody's.I remember that awful Katie Price once appeared who the heck would want to watch her making a idiot of herself. To me it is just a load of garbage but everyone has different tastes I suppose but certainly not my cup of tea

To be honest they never get anyone worthwhile doing it, as the celebs that are any good have good careers so don't need to do it.

Celebrity these days has been so watered down that it just means someone you may have heard of once.
An example of this is Ryan Giggs brothers ex wife who was on Celebrity Big Brother.

Both as more publicity often leads to more moolah in the world of celebs.

Isn't that the definition of celebrity nowadays?
