I agree with you.

I find her annoying at times, particularly her poor comic timing and delivery...but certainly not enough for me to dislike her. She's good at her job - it would be mayhem with two Claudia characters (as much as I love her).

Some of you are confusing annoying with dislike. I don't
dislike her, in fact I don't dislike anyone on strictly.

I find Claudia far more irritating personally!! The way she delivers her horrendous 'even worse than Bruce' jokes then pauses for 'effect' like he used to annoys the crap out of me!! Bruce used to just about get away with it because he was old & a TV legend, Claudia is neither & comes across as more of a simpleton that's been hired on a government scheme than a proper presenter to me!!

I agree with you completely Mr Stokes, I find Tess bland, personality-less, unfunny and quite cringeworthy at times, especially when she is trying to deliver a pre-prepared "joke". She is unable to adlib, just churns out the same few sentences each week, she is a completely uninteresting non-entity as far as I am concerned, though she is very attractive to look at.

Claudia on the other hand is intelligent, funny, quirky, she thinks on her feet, she adlibs, she is very watchable.

I can't see them getting rid of Tess ever though, she is "in with the bricks".

I am finding nowadays that I enjoy Strictly more when I record it and then just fast forward though the Tess bits.

If that's the only requirement for the salary the Beeb pays her, then give me an application form.

Before this series I would have agreed but thid series for me it is Bruno. He is cringeworthy and this year at times has been vile with it. I used to love his antics, perhaps I am getting old

Christ, what a horrible mean spirited thread! To present the live juggernaut that is Strictly is not an easy task and I'm not saying I think she's a fantastic presenter but I can certainly think of worse options. It's OK not to like the woman but she looks what she looks and can't help with it. To call her a transvestite with long arms and to bring her husband into it it's totally not on.

I am not sure what a 'professional northerner' is, would you prefer her put on a fake Southern accent.

Her accent has been discussed on here before and people from her area wrote that it was quite a normal one for there so not sure what you think is wrong with it.

Quite possibly, yes. Like others have stated; she is wooden, unfunny, cheesy, and cringeworthy. Imagine if the Auto-cue suddenly broke down mid-show? How she managed to get on TV; I'll never know.

It is quite normal for people who come from the area and don't really move anywhere else, but not for one who I doubt has lived there for most of her life.
So now it "fits where it touches." The over-emphasised "northern vowel sounds," tend to disappear when she's playing "catch-up" rapidly reading out what's on the auto-cue.

Cilla Black was the same, only worse.

Not another Tess bashing thread - yawwwn!

She's fine -does what is required. Her role requires her to be supportive of the contestants, and there only so many ways of verbalising that. Most importantly, she doesn't attempt to make the show all about her, and as a bonus, she looks good!
Can't tell a joke to save her life, bless her, but I can live with that.

i don't think it's awful - I replied that yes, I do find her the most annoying thing about Strictly (apart from comedy training videos, props, etc). I don't dislike her as I'm never likely to know anything about her, but despite her doing a competent job, she's my least favourite presenter for the reasons I stated … I try to leave out any unnecessary personal remarks.

Olly Murs is a desperate wannabe who will do anything to get his mug on TV or in the tabloids, Caroline flack is a babe. Tess is still a talentless bimbo who is 200℅ Autocue dependant and there are others who could do it so much better.

I don't have a problem with either Tess or Claude.

I don't find that either gets in the way of the flow of the show in the way that Brucie used to in the final years of his stint as presenter.

i like tess and always have. she is a safe pair of hands to manage a prime time show, and she does it well. claudia provides a comic counterpart and together they are a great team.
