iPad Mail not working...
Trying to access my email on iPad tonight, button 'Mail' at bottom of screen only produces almost blank screen, then switches back to the screen with the buttons and all the apps etc showing. Sometimes all the little app symbols etc shake about as if they are suspended with a nail through the top of each and are trembling.
Anyone any idea what's going on,please and any solutions? Email address is @ icloud.com, btw. |

Try rebooting it. Hold both buttons for several seconds until you see an Apple logo, then let go.

That's what happens when you delete an app: have you held down one of the icons for too long? If it happens again, just press the Home button, it will stop the shaking etc |

Thank you- 'both buttons'? The 'Mail' button and which other? Sorry if it's obvious!

The physical power button and the home button - the only two buttons on your iPad apart from the volume buttons.

ICloud email now operating again- I had to 'manage the storage' by deleting a couple of apps, then- hey presto - it was back.
Talking of 'managing the storage' I find this strange: it is easy to delete apps, but some of the other things that are using up the bytes seem to have no way to delete the usage.Anyone know the modus operandi. Reason is, I'm getting a window again saying 'storage almost full' and I have few options available to do so without the method to use on the non-app items. |

Stig, I gather the physical power button is the control that switches the iPad on and off, but the 'Home' button? Don't even know anything about 'volume buttons' !!
Actually, forget that. Just hold down the power button on the top, and then swipe to turn off. After it powers off, press the power button for a couple of seconds again to turn it on. |

Made me laugh anyway,Stig; forgot the button on the front,it merges with the border, but of course I use it all the time...what about the'volume' buttons?
When I swipe to turn off having depressed the power button to bring up the request, )then turn on again, didn't realise that was ' rebooting'- I do that several time a day anyway. Cheers! |

Seriously, all you need to do to answer questions is to do a search. Go to Google and type 'iPad buttons' and then look at the image results. There are 100s of labelled diagrams of the home and volume buttons.

I think the OP would benefit from going to a workshop at his/her local Apple Store. They will teach you the basics there like what the home button is and more. I think you will get more out of your device.

Or download the iPad user manual in PDF format and read through that.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. the email is working again, although I have no idea why it wasn't when I made the OP. Perhaps it was due to the storage limitation?
