It has been interesting watching the evolving relationship she has in there with her fellow camp mates and our interpretation of on here of what's happening.
I know neither she nor many here would agree with me but I think it looks like classic gang bullying .
First pick a victim who is
A, rather unlkable
B, can be isolated
C, easily ridiculed.
And before you know it an uncomfortable situation has arisen.
Yes she's TV gold. Yes she's entertaining. But at what cost ?
This is a woman has had her own sorrows and walked a tough road. I've no idea why she's doing this any more than any of the other has beens. But to see adults behave in the craven way they have and also hope to resurrect careers on the back of it is incredible. I could not care less about her or the rest of them . But they are the least likeable bunch yet .

I have actually found it very unpleasant to watch. I know on social media and forums the word Bully is used every verse end - however I do believe this pack mentality at the minute can only be defined this way Bullying. And I agree with how it all started. Tony Duncan and Breeeeeean are just awful and immature. At one point Duncan sang la la la loudly so no one could hear Lady C - Nothing was said to him. Tony would not attempt for a second to serve them their food - Nothing was said to him. Tonight Tony said its not right she should have a go - she is not been a team player. So basically do as I say not as I do - these three men should be ashamed of themselves. Lady C may be acting out of order now but I feel it is because she has felt so picked on and isolated by most of the camp that she is acting in a defensive and protective mode.

Absolutely! They're a whole pack of bullies and I hope they get their comeuppance, starting with than cowardly passive aggressive worm Yvette.

But I think Lady C is in control of herself and behaviour. She is a very strong person emotionally.

She has been picked on, but tonights show showed that the 'gang of nine' is no longer a gang, and people are mixing together again.

Yvette and Brian still seem to want to hate Lady C, but others - like Duncan - know that she won't change, and is maybe accepting her a bit more.

As for the bullying...well, I don't think it's just her personality that caused people to behave like they did. I believe it was good old fashioned prejudice...

Lady C looks different to the others- A 66 year old woman with that long pale wispy hair - a 'strange' voice, eccentric personality. She stands out. Individuals who look different can fall victim to prejudiced people who know they can't be racist or sexist.....so they pick on the one that looks different to everyone else, and that's Lady C.

I think that's why everyone picked on her....and why no one stood up for her the other night. It's like it's nice to know inside your head that there is someone worse off than you.....and the 'gang of nine' had a moment of weakness and turned Lady C into that person.

But it looked like it fizzled out a bit tonight....and Lady C looks like a strong willed survivor....it's the others I feel sorry for. Some of them are weak and insecure...

i did wonder if some had been given a talking to. there was a subdued volte face going on I thought. just my opinion of course.

I think if any of you were in there with her you would feel the same as the others. She is not a true Aristocrat and has no breeding, only married to a Lord and that ended when they found out she had been brought up as a boy. I enjoyed her at first but now find her ill bred and stubborn. She would be better to listen to others, but when one is used to getting their own way and get it for peace and quiet, they continue to act that way. Selfish woman.

Why did she go in? To renovate her old castle, well sell her tiaras to get some money. She should have known what she was getting into, or is she playing the game to get an early exit and stay in the luxury hotel so she can boss more people about. Horrible woman.

Why did any of them go in? I fail to sew how her reasons are less valid than anyone else's.

Duncan is far viler in any case.

I think it is a bit of both. She was amicable until Tony named her as the laziest, she had earned them food and cooked it, and contributed more than others at that point. Understandably she was upset and felt insulted.

Her reaction when she feels attacked is to defend herself fiercely, and take no prisoners, and as I said in another post, you have to read her autobiography to understand why she reacts as she does.

She knew she was a girl growing up, because of her genitals condition her parents dressed her as a boy, and had her injected with male hormones, she appeared to others to be transgender, not that the term was used, she was bullied, ridiculed and called a freak, even by her parents. And subsequently by her husband when he found out, she loved him, but he was ashamed of her, and beat her.

No wonder she is over sensitive to any thing or anyone she thinks is belittling her. She does go over the top, I can see why.

Tony refused to do his bit and take part in a simple task and the others agreed, that was ganging up and she knew it was personal, and isn't having that, the public continually putting her through trials day after day doesn't help either. She wouldn't admit it, but at her age it must be hard going, she was voted for that underground trial despite saying she wouldn't do it.

A less strong person could become upset, she goes on the defence, it doesn't do her any favours, but she didn't start the problem, and Duncan ridiculing her, with Tony, Yvette and Brian laughing set her off.

They don't realise how cruel that is to her, but she does.

This programme is no place for elderly people with sensitivities, so if her problem is related to her childhood maybe she shouldn't have gone in. However I think the producers would have been extra careful with her, given her age, and they felt confident she could cope. Yes her prickliness and defensiveness may have roots in her childhood, but she is an intelligent woman and can behave better than this if she chooses.

I think, initially at least, the other campmates did try to look after her - for example I remember Toy gave her his bed at the start. They have been ground down by her utter self-absorption and rudeness. It's just not OK to compare other people to excrement or call a gay man a "bitch". She's even managed to upset Jorgie, who is the most inoffensive girl imaginable. Plus, at least on the basis of what we've seen, she just will not shut up - I think the wearing effect of this is easy to underestimate when we only see the show for an hour a day. .

In my view she is a very tough old bird with a massive game-plan which she is executing efficiently. Obviously she wants to be voted out - she's there for the money so the sooner she goes the sooner she gets it. She wasn't there to make friends or for personal development or to further her career, so why else has she chosen to do it? She needs the money - simple as.

So to answer the question - definitely not victim. Not victor either, except so far as she's getting what she wants out of the show.

Great post and I think you are correct. She has played the evil witch to get the "Oiks" to vote her out early. Thereby getting her pay cheque and probably some extra dosh from Hello/The Daily Fail/book deal with minimum effort
Unfortunately she has developed a following and the "Oiks" will try and keep her in. Bet she will get a bit cross when she finds out she's overplayed it and has to stay in. Lol, how we shall laugh

I agree she would be happy to get out as soon as she can, but I also think the others might be a bit amused by her sometimes, I thought even Brian had the beginning of a laugh at her enema comment.

She wants to get some money to renovate her property, it's easy cash, if she gets eliminated early gets her cash with minimum effort why is that offending you?

They each have a motivation for doing it, money or refreshing their fame NOBODY is doing it to make friends or the experience. At least she is treating it like the business opportunity she sees it as.

Me too... their mostly behaving like silly chldren in there ganging up when some should have kept out of the bickering , Duncans been a big letdown to me.. I thought he d be more fun and fair..

I agree with this. I think Chris and Kieron also know how people gamg up to ostracise and that's why they support her.
I would add that she would drive me nuts but I'd just compromise to make sure we all got on OK because that's the way to survive and stay happy.
I've learned a long time ago that's it's preferable, in most circumstances to be happy rather than right. It's called picking your battles wisely and I'd do that with her. Vicky says,of Lc " she just wants to be heard", isn't that understandable.

Tony had a smile too last night behind a tree at one of her outbursts, it was so funny..

I don't think Lady C gives a damn about her image and reputation , however for some in there these things still matter if they are using this exposure to resurrect flagging careers and oddly enough some of them have by their actions hammered home the final nail in the coffin, for me anyway. Annoying as she is, and she is indeed annoying and odd generally that's just not a good enough excuse for the horrible pack mentality and really quite ugly behaviour displayed in there. If Lady C goes there is just no one in there that I like enough to invest my time on.

I've actually found it really really uncomfortable to watch. They are nothing more than playground bullies. They've singled Lady C out and all completely gone for her...vicious.

They probably are making her feel isolated, but it's no wonder, the way she talks down to them all the time. She thinks she is above every single person in there, but she is just a nasty old bat.

The others obviously want attention (which is something she continually picks up on), but that's why the signed up to the show - to do trials and take part in tasks, but they are stuck in the camp doing nothing all day, because that pretentious old windbag is the one playing to the cameras all the time.

Some people probably do it for the challenge. Didn't some of them give the fees to charity?

I go off Lady C about ten times a night and then she says something funny and I like her again. I was very disappointed in Duncan's mocking of her, it was very childish and I feel Tony is the biggest hypocrite in there, he had a cheek to go on about her refusing to do the task when he had done the exact same thing. I'm sure she can handle herself but when Chris was telling her off, she backed down immediately so I think not being isolated completely is more important to her than she is letting on.

I agree 100%. But I think it would be more hilarioius if she was voted out first because that would shake the whole thing up for me. It would make Chris and Kieron question what they thought of her compared to what the public thought (rightly or wrongly), and she is so convinced she is right and we public would'nt question that. I have no particular like or dislike for her but I would like to see more of the others and it would also be interesting to hear the whole conversations not just the bits that itv are showing us. We are all making these massive assumptions about what is happening in there based on an hours programme over a 24 hour period that by the time you take out the adverts and individual trials amounts to what - 40 minutes or so ? ITV can select any part of a conversation/argument and cut it with another conversation/argument and make it into anything they think that will boost ratings. I bet there is an awful lot we don't see or that gets cut.

If Lady C goes tonight, I won't watch any more of the series.

Not because Lady C hasn't committed acts that would warrant eviction - she has, but I don't want to see the others celebrate her departure, I don't want to see people equally as bad be seen as 'relieved' to be rid of her, because they are just as much to blame for the fractured state of camp right now. I don't want to see my intelligence insulted and all of the blame heaped on Lady C.
