In an attempt to un-baffle you:
I had never heard of Vicky or Geordie Shore before last week so I had no preconceptions of who she was or what she was like. (Except that I generally have a mild contempt for people in reality shows which first has to be overcome).
I accept that she might be a complete bitch in a previous show - I can't forget her and Ferne talking on their first day in the jungle and one of them said something like 'they've brought us in so that you can stir it up and I can be the bitch', or something like that - they clearly saw themselves in a negative role which was telling. But, in fact, neither of them have come across negatively.
What I like about Vicky: she is positive, upbeat, smiley, forthright, and approaches challenges with a calm determined, cheerfulness, is supportive of campmates in need (thinking of the calm authoriative way she saw Ferne through that high rise challenge).
She overheard Brian saying how he wished they could go back to the camp pre the newcomers and was hurt by the rejection but did not confront Brian or any of the others, or sulk, but just continued to interact with them positively.
She doesn't seem to pick sides. She talks to anyone, Lady C included, in a friendly manner.
Although it may be a bit creepy, I thought the way she cosied up to Duncan was sweet. Previously, all I had seen of him was a sullen grumpy man. Suddenly he was smiling and flirting - I don't like him much, but it was nice to see that side of him. Vicky did that.
I think her leadership skills are incredible. The only rocky moment was putting Lady C in a group with Susannah and Yvette but, as she said, she thought they all wanted to go home, that was the impression they gave her, so putting them together for a challenge where the prize was immunity made sense. Let's face it, if we were camp leader, how many of us would have made the easy choice of putting Lady C with Kieron and Chris? I know I would have. But Vicky was clearly thinking along the lines of who wants to stay, who wants to go, rather than consolidating old factions, and I think that was a clever strategy.
As for the Geordie accent and sayings - well, I don't know, they may be put on, but as I have no previous knowledge of her, I don't know that. To a southerner like myself, they sound quite funny and charming.
And to people who says she does all her bitching in the Bush Telegraph:
a) I have not heard her bitching at all
b) I think it is ok to let off steam a bit in the Bush Telegraph. It isn't being two faced. We all find some people or certain situations annoying in real life and wait for the privacy of home or when with friends, or even just alone in our heads, to sound off about them. That's normal and healthy, not two faced.
