This task was all about customer satisfaction. Gary was TL and his business plan is an events company for heaven's sake. He failed on all accounts. That was the worst planned birthday party of all time. The "strict no running policy" and the severe nut allergy case I kind of felt sorry for that wasted 2k and in general for kids growing up in 2015. The bus ride home with the glow sticks and David's song was probably one of the worst scenes of the Apprentice all time.

Gary's just totally out of his depth. He's a corporate type who thrives by staying afloat a large corporate bureaucracy and not making snap decisions; a grinder not a grunder. Just the wrong candidate for this sort of business venture.

Disagree actually - I think his whole team were a bit of a disaster on this one and everybody F'd up in various ways.

The nutella/chocolate spread incident was almost unforgivable though and he should have a tighter rein on that, although once again, that was mainly down to the incompetence of his team mates.

He clearly was a bit out of his comfort zone dealing with kids but he did really well in the beginning, when asking the clients what they wanted and getting the ball rolling - went in like a pro.

With a stronger team, he would have won the task - if you look at all the failures, none of them were actually 'his' cock ups - the whole team was rubbish as a collective.

I think Lord Sugar made the right decision, and in terms of a sound business partner I think he's one of the best of a bad bunch this year.

As I said earlier, the whole task was about customer satisfaction. There was a problem that came up; and I think his whole response to it was unprofessional. Allergies is a big part of any even management with food involved, and if this was all that Gary could do; the mom had to walk away and sit in a corner for the whole party; it showed a lack of understanding for the business and customer.

What I'm intrigued by is would Versatile have won if they still had Richard? He was a pretty big contributor to the previous weeks win

He is quite the bumbling idiot, he didn't have a clue what was happening. The cake had been quite clearly described yet Gary told the parents it had Nutella in it!

Yep, love him or hate him Richard is ultra clued up. Selina wanted expensive tea parties, luxury gift bags and just wanted to spend, spend, spend. Richard ensured this didn't happen and challenged her every time and ultimately kept the costs low. Without him, it would have been a different story, no doubt....

^^ True but if I was spending £200 a head, I would expect something better than the crap that both teams served up. They could of taken the kids to the Ritz for afternoon tea and still come out on top.

The trouble with this type of task it rewards you for not spending, it should be worked out on how much money was given back, but it shows that LAS isn't interested in customer satisfaction and repeat business, just "how much can I get out of them"

You think his iceskating abilities won the day for them

Anyway, we don't know who Richard would have replaced (or rather who would have been picked otherwise by Selina). The whole cakegate would probably still have happened, as surely Gary can't have been stupid enough to put Charleine with him after last week.

To be fair, based on previous weeks we know that Richard does iron (his shirts) in the house, so the t-shirt incident could have been avoided (had he still been there).
