I'm not even that keen on the guy myself.... but you're quite right. It seems to be the favourite pastime on here at the moment.

Not really.

He was standing around in some drafty conference centre promoting frozen food while the other competitors were knocking their blocks off in training every day. Kevin missed one day as he was ill, but managed to catch up as Kellie - a real grafter had the week off from EE.

Some of the others are working late into the evening.

Like I've said, PA probably wasn't too bothered about the lack of training time. And he was right not to be. He still got two X 8

I don't. I remember Vincent was injured after a few hours training. I don't remember anything about a definite number of hours Louisa spent training in total that week.

That's slightly melodramatic. His dancing has been heavily criticised, but that's par for the course.

Sorry some comments have gone beyond just heavy criticism,I can't see where my post is slightly melodramatic, just that it's another thread for posters to have a pop at Peter on that's all.

I do 100% agree with her that online abuse is NOT cool, and especially not aiming it at the pro dancers - they are all brilliant really, even the ones I'm not keen on are massively talented and hardworking, and make the series what it is.

4 hours though - OK I know people can't neglect other, longer term work, but that seriously is taking the mick. Frankly I think its insulting to the viewers, his fans, and most of all to Janette.

I'm also pleased she clarified that story about Len, he's gone up in my estimation a bit for calling her up to set the record straight.”

there has been very little negativity towards Janette on here , we all know how talented all the pro's are ,

and its taken til Friday to here about this

And it should have cost him. Except the public decided to put Jamelia in the dance off for the fifth time. The Judges are accused of not listening to the public. The public message has been quite clear and there is only so many times you can ignore them.

If some of you don't like another Peter thread, it's his fault as his PR kept him everywhere, on TV, radio, newspapers, mags etc. So he only did 4 hours, that is very big cheeky to other dancers who put their times to do the show even they got busy schedules!

If he really has only done 4 hours training then that is naughty. How can anyone expect to learn a dance in 4 hours? I wonder if the judges took this into account?

Perhaps he should have considered before he agreed to take on Strictly, and the comminent that involves, especially to your hard working pro, if he was going to have time in his busy schedule to give the show the time, energy and dedication it needs and deserves?

He has flitted off before, like when he was promoting his album of Rat Pack covers.

The thing is, his busy schedule isn't like Kellie's full time job on Eastenders.
It's not even that Iceland have him contracted to spend 20 hours a week making adverts for Prawn Rings.
He's busy doing PR for his stint on Strictly, doing interviews and talk shows like This Morning. He's too busy talking about learning to dance and not leaving himself time to actually learn

If his Pro was injured or sick, they might be able to make allowances.
If he's too busy sitting on a TV studio sofa, then no...

If he's so busy elsewhere, maybe he should go... elsewhere this week?

Absolutely. I think he's finding this learning to dance malarkey much harder work than he had anticipated. Certainly not as cushy as appearing on the TM sofa for a chat with Pip & Holls.

He'll be out within the next week or two anyway

He probably thought he could just turn up and his fans would keep voting so he wouldn't be in the bottom any week. After all, the judges love him, his fans love him and he loves himself! I doubt he would have improved even with 40 hours of training, he just couldn't do it.

Everyone knows the effort that is needed with SCD. Kelly and others have full time jobs, Peter isn't the only one working. Isn't it about this time of year he has a "pretend Christmas" for he is usual OK Christmas Cover? So another day away from training in a week or so....He was probably told by his manager, just turn up you'll be voted through each week, we will still make money turning on Christmas lights etc.

You can't.

Other than your opinion of your fellow posters, do you have an opinion on the thread topic?

I think PA's laziness is more than a tad apparent.

It's a bit of an insult to other competitors who have "proper day jobs," so have to fit training in around that.

There's been a lot online though. Janette's kept a dignified silence about it all, but she's had some nasty stuff written about her on Twitter.

I think they're close friends, so I doubt Janette even had to ask - Kristina chose to defend her.

Actually I've been of the general opinion that there has been a lot of over the top and unfair criticism of Peter.

But this thread raises a valid point. I don't expect celebs to give up all of their business commitments for Strictly, but 4hrs practice is pitiful. As mimi says, too much talking about and not enough actual doing.
