Draft proof cat flap?
Is there such a thing as a draft free cat flap?
I am going to be bricking up a door when the weather gets better and will be re-positioning a cat flap here. I was thinking of perhaps using two cat flaps. One inside and one outside to minimise drafts, but is there a real draft free cat flap? |

Of course, if you had a sufficiently brush-like cat, it would minimise the air flow by occupying most of the space as it entered. Perhaps some sort of perm? |

I use a magnetic cat-flap and that's pretty draft proof. The flap itself remains locked firmly shut until my cat comes along and opens it with a magnet in his collar.

My current one is magnetic in that it has a magnet attached to stop the door flapping in the wind, but cold air still gets past as it is not airtight in any way.
I might create a tunnel when I brick up the door and have one flap at each end. It will also be inside a new floor to ceiling cupboard that I will be creating so that will probably help as well. |

I currently have a Staywell one, but suspect it is one of their cheaper models.
When ready, I will carefully select what I need. Thanks for all the suggestions.
