Watching a British Airways 747-400 and the sun is still shining on it 5 minutes after sunset. Fascinating.

The days are really dragging their teeth. Sunset is still only 6:37pm, mind you it is staying daylight until 7pm now.

The last few evenings it has clouded over though which has had an impact.

Oh please stop moaning. I bet you'll still complain after the clocks go forward. Then for that little period of time when sunset is after 10pm in your neck of the woods then in July when it starts drawing in you'll be moaning again.

Stop being greedy for more daylight. We can only afford so much daylight a year in the present economic situation so you'll just have to make do with what you've got for now

Your even getting later sunsets than the Tories down in London, usually they're not this generous.
So I'd be grateful for the daylight you have now because further cuts are in the pipeline and the UK Daylight Budget is the next big thing that the government are looking to save more money on.

From tomorrow the days start getting longer than the nights again.

No I am sure he means what he says. These things are more complicated than they seem.

Ah, I see what you mean now. According to timeanddate.com, daylight was exactly 12 hours yesterday in Chelmsford.

It stayed daylight to 7:10. It was cloudy though.

Dont forget to put them forward. Bit of a downer losing an hour in bed but summer is well and truly on the way with the clocks going forward

Depends if you have to work today or not.

You will still have to adjust though. For example if you go to bed at 11pm GMT and have to get up at 7am GMT for work, you will now have to get up at effectively 6am GMT, while having to try and get to sleep earlier as well.

You will almost certainely lose sleep as well as experiencing dusruption to your sleeping schedule. It could take up to a week or maybe even longer to adjust. A lot harder to adjust to the clocks going forward than going backwards in my experience.

I've been ill with a cold since Friday, so I've been going to bed earlier as I've been feeling tireder. I've also been waking up earlier, but then going back to bed again afterwards. Anyway, alough it's unfortunate that I've been ill over the Easter Period, at least I have sort of adjusted to the clocks going forward this year as I have been going to bed earlier (and waking up earlier).

It doesn't really matter if you adjust. Your body needs to get used to the different daylight levels.

For the first few days it never quite feels like the time on the clock. I have probably adjusted today. Anyway, it took alot out of me yesterday. I went to bed at 9pm last night.

Yeah, it's still dark here, but there are lights on buildings which is very reassuring to see.

I was ill for most of Easter Sunday, so went to bed, and didn't get up until 1:30am, and now staying with the hurrucane and several cups of tea, but will return to bed, and after that my sleeping clock will be up the creek again. -sigh- I'd rather sleep at night so that I'm fresh in daylight, but it hardly happens that way.

Was that 9pm GMT or BST?

Woke up at first light this morning, just after 6am. Sky was just turning from an inky black to a deep blue. Didn't really get properly light till nearly 7am today.
