13 degrees where I live now, but the sun is still pretty low in the sky.
May look into getting one of those lumie lamps as I have trouble getting up in the morning. I'm like a zombie then too.
Clear sky today (Wow!). The sun is steaming through the window. Plenty of natural light in the house. Sun is still very low in the sky though, I've even had to pull the curtain across because the sun is so low in the sky it's blinding me.
Much better than it not getting properly light all day. Lifts your spirits up
The highest the sun is getting where I live is 13 degrees.

I find the seasons and astronomy quite interesting, a good-natured thread on these forums is a nice change in my opinion.
I always have a bit of chat and banter with my Tesco grocery delivery driver.
On Tues 22 Dec at 4pm (just getting dark) the guy was moaning about his Xmas workload. I said 'look on the bright side - after today it starts getting lighter in the evenings' (alluding to driving being easier in daylight).
He replied, with a bit of a sneer 'well, that's what they claim' - as if it was a theory !
I said 'it's science, man', and he headed back to his van, muttering . . .
The Tesco dude obviously don't believe in Physics.

Woke up at 8:15am to awful weather this morning though, and yes, you guessed it... The streetlights were still on..
Glad it's turned itself around in time for Christmas..

The daily diary updates of Leachie are a big highlight for me now.
I hope he never goes on a foreign holiday, it would just be too confusing with unusual sunset times and weird street light times.

I'd just like to say... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Unfortunately, the weather has not been very Christmassy today. It has been very gloomy today and it has just started battering it down with rain. I've had to put all the lights on in the house as t has just got dimmer and dimmer throughout the day. The first streetlight also came on at 3:15pm today and I've just seen another come on now. Got to be one of the darkest days yet.

I've just had to switch lights on as well, here in Scotland. A Very Merry Christmas!
Gone really dim and gloomy where I am. Started chucking it down. No surprise there. Had to put the light on. House is in darkness already.
It is broad daylight here with the sun still shining but I have switched all my lights on anyway, because that is what I enjoy so much about this time of year.

It's truly fascinating stuff isn't it?
Got up at 7:30am this morning. It was dark, but the sky was a deep blue rather than being pitch black. Wasn't too tired, the day was easier than expected. Not really noticed any lighter afternoons yet. First streetlights came on before 3:30pm today. It didn't start to really get dark till after 4 though, and there was still some light in the sky shortly before 5pm.
The mornings start getting lighter for me tomorrow. Today's sunrise was 8:27, the latest it gets but tomorrow it will rise at 8:26.

`Dark `! in the north east of england we havent seen the sun for days, completely black grey skies, tossing with rain, its never ending, soooo depressing, i prefer the normal winters, i hear its going to be like this all january..i feel sorry for people with` sAD...think a lot of people will be getting it

Came out of a shop (that I'd been in for ages) at 3:50pm yesterday and it was already getting dark, you know you've been in somewhere too long when you come out and the streetlights are coming on!
Before 4:30pm the sky turned a deep blue and dusk had already fallen. Felt quite wintery. Went completely dark by 5pm too. Mind you, the weather turned wet (again).

Got up early this morning, low and behold, Snow!
The sky was a luminous yellow and alough it was night it seemed to be lighter than normal, I could see around quite well without having to put the light on.
Then dawn came and it stopped snowing. It's melting away now, which is a shame. Hope it snows some more tomorrow.

Clear night tonight. Saw the sun set. Noticed a difference in daylight tonight. There's still a bit of light in the sky now. The sky is a deep blue and there is a yellow glow to the west.
I switched on a lamp in the living room at 2.05pm today, and the ceiling light in the kitchen at 2.30 when I made tea.
