You may have found the two episodes dull, I thought they were very good. The Sontaran one is one of my favourites.

Tonight's episode was incredible.

I do, however, see why people might not like this episode. it was a bit more cerebral. Some people like the Transformers film, whereas others like films like 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange. Who am I to judge?

Maybe for you, but for me it was thrilling and the TARDIS sequences especially felt very metaphorical to how the Doctor thinks when he's in these situations.

I think you need to re-read what we both said. I'm not even vaguely attempting to be clever, I'm trying to discern if you think Doctor Who should be more dull as the episodes you're yearning for a return to are quite dull in my view. Thanks for the passive aggressive insult though! *mwah*

So what you're saying is anybody who enjoyed the episode is wearing tinted glasses? Or, shock horror, they enjoyed the episode?

Same I loved them but don't think it was the Greatest, that dosen't mean I find it dull. Donna and Martha were the greatest together in The Sontarans Strategem and Vampires in Venice I found it so adventerous I loved when The Doctor popped out that cake and said Rory's wife was cheating on him and I love when Rory had a swordfight with that vampire and when The Doctor and that Vampire queen (Ik there not really vampires forgot their names) were questioning each other.

Ah? Are you saying that people who enjoy the latest episodes are wearing tinted glasses? You realise that doesn't actually make sense though and it's more likely to be people referring to episodes from years ago who are wearing such glasses.

Unless I'm stuck in some sort of hellish DS time loop of course and these conversations have been going on for 7,000 years.

Thrilling? Right.

Yes, the Tardis was a metaphor. And? Hardly gobsmackingly amazing. Especially as all the Doctor did in the Tardis was take instruction from bloody Clara, who's supposed to be dead so why the hell doesn't she just shut up?

Once again, Thank you for taking the words out my mouth.

It wasn't particularly clever though. Or sharp. In fact it was pretty simple with a lot of meander.

Moffat can come up with good ideas but like many writers who are a bit too famous now it feels like no one is editing his work and it REALLY needs someone to come at it with a pickaxe and remove the excess.

Shut up? Poor, dead, Clara only said about 10 words. OK it's quite a lot compared to most dead people but quite a little compared to most other episodes.

Weren't you complaining on the official episode thread about people dismissing opinions?

Obviously it didn't work for you, but it did for me. I found it an exciting episode and enjoyed the concept, you can hardly expect everyone to feel the same as you about it.

Same ole, same ole.

Can't believe how so many people think their opinion is so special and incontavertible that they can't just post it in the main episode thread.

He "gets away with it" because there's an awful lot of people with a different opinion than yours of his writing.

I was at a party last night and nearly everyone there said they have gone off watching Doctor Who this series. . These aren't die hard fans but the general public. I found tonight's episode just plain boring. What was the point of it. Wasting time ( what felt like hours) just to find Gallifrey at the end. I can understand what people at the party were saying. I can't even remember most of the titles of this series episodes apart from the zygon invasion.

Well I was at a gathering of druids in the dimension between this life and the next and they've all started watching again, but sadly they don't report to BARB so it's had no effect.

Gotta love those anecdotes.

Same when I bring up Doctor Who to friends and family it seems the last time they watched it was around Series 6/ The end of Series 5

Discussion is not the same as dismissal. We can argue all night and I will never tell you you have half a brain cell, or call you joyless, or then whine about being misunderstood.

I don't expect everyone to feel as I do. Do you? That's not how a discussion forum works.

I'm pretty sure they were flashforwards and not flashbacks.

There are ways to discuss contrasting opinions without acting like the other person has no point because they enjoyed areas that you didn't, you know.

Indeed. I do hope they're still keeping count. It's nice to have a hobby.

Yet I see you here every Saturday.

May I suggest you go out and enjoy yourself at the weekend instead?
