I would consider this an example of being dismissive. It certainly isn't a discussion. And though I agree with the sentiments, the people in question would be a totally different group.

It's quite odd. Almost like the more they rage, the more the rage grows.”

Why do you up the ante with terms like "haters" and "rage"? My observation is that if someone says they don't like a particular episode, however mild and reasonable the criticism, they get responses like this. People do take it personally if DW gets criticised.

I haven't liked much about this series. That is unusual for me. I certainly don't hate it, or anyone who likes and defends it. I have no rage, although I get annoyed when I'm told I'm thick for not liking it. If I let myself descend into rage about a Saturday evening TV programme I'd take myself off for psychiatric treatment sharpish. To discuss what I don't like with people who do, or vice versa, is why I come on this forum.

Some of the posters on this thread really need to...actually I shouldn't finish that sentence.

If people like Abomination, who is one of the most reasonable, fair and genuine posters on here are getting accused of bullying for posts that don't seem in the slightest aggressive then all hope is lost in this forum.

And to the OP, yes we're all allowed to express our opinion but did you genuinely look at the current state of this forum and go: nope there's no room in any other threads for this opinion, this forum needs yet another antagonistic title, and an antagonistic post with absolutely no discussion or opinion expressed except: I don't like Moffat?

Tell me why did you think this episode was drivel?

To answer your question, Moffat gets away with it because episodes like this are scoring high critically and seem very popular with the fandom, as the poll for this week's episode shows.

Of course the opinions of everyone (and apparently there are a lot of us) who actually liked this episode don't matter because we're wearing "tinted goggles".

Christ, this has probably been my least favourite series under Moffat, I thought Sleep No More was probably worse than Love and Monsters and the worst episode ever made, but you don't see me starting threads every other week moaning. Just because I liked this week doesn't mean I'm blinded by my love of the show and of Peter and Moff.

Moffat can write. I have seen him do it recently when I got his autograph. It was properly old school, he used a pen with ink in it and everything. He even proved that this wasn't just spewing out a set a squiggles he has learnt how to copy because he added a message, in proper coherent English, that was personal to me. So there.

I thought this was the best episode in a long while. I like the fact it was just the Doctor on his own and no one else was in it.

Oh get over yourself!

A *bit* more seriously, I think that's a good post from Granny there. The "if you liked/disliked/hated it you are a...." stuff on tinternet I don't like. Disagreement and debate is good, and I've enjoyed reading the pretty diverse reactions to last night's episode, but that's a bit un. Still, think it's generally pretty rare on DS compared to some other places!

What do you think, OP?

Except Clara.

Yes, I know she was just in his head, but still.....

(I'm only kidding. I'm glad you liked it. )

Talking of Clara, wasn't really a fan and I'm not sad she's gone. Kinda felt the show went downhill when she joined and then we get a good episode after she leaves, can't be a coincidence lol.

But it was a good performance by Peter Capaldi in yesterday's episode, I for one thought it was well written and performed.

It's not the criticism that becomes tiresome, it's the tabloid-like outrage (worst ep ever! Moff must go! Hated all of it!) without any real discussion. Hence my upping the ante is just reflecting that trend back, fighting troll with troll.

But I've had my fun, I'll fade back and return for the finale

Why is the OP getting so much stick for posting a thread?

I didn't realise DS allowed self-appointed Forum Police who decide what can be posted and where?

Not surprisingly, the people who object to threads like this are posters who hate any form of criticism about the show or don't like opposite views.

Just to be clear there are no rules about restrictions on where to post unless DS decide that a thread/post is inappropriate or offensive.

If you don't like a thread then don't read it or make comments. Failing that, keep the replies on topic and join the debate but don't tell people where they can and can't post. That could be interpreted as bullying.

This thread has run its course. The original post was hardly constructive to begin with and the OP hasn't been in to elaborate on their point since. Thread closed.
