They seem to have got married under the influence and both ended up regretting every second of it since - though not enough regrets to give up the title.

The Duke of Argyll and family are well known for being super wealthy. They head the Campbell clan and own tons of land in Scotland. Google them, they have lots of business interests as well as land. Also, they are Dukes, that's a bit of a clue too

His father was the Duke of Argyll, his brother has now inherited the title. They are very rich and certainly wouldn't need to marry for money. She married him for wealth and to get her foot into the door of the aristocracy,ie social climber.

He gave an interview to the Sun on Sunday only recently I believe. Classy.

The ferocious and incessant nature of her attack on Tony was just too much. I enjoy a cutting remark on an over-inflated ego as much as the next person, but she just keeps going and going. And her past or her age or even the "entertainment value" she offers can't excuse what was simply abhorrent behaviour.

Pretty much agree with everything in this thread. Whilst there's no question that the show would have been quite dull without her, absolutely nothing can justify the way she spoke to Tony. No matter how much you hate someone, no decent person would say what she did. Does she really hate him because he refused to serve her? Then it's about time she got over it but then she's so petty and childish she'll hold a grudge forever. Tony probably doesn't have the vocabulary to reply to her, I don't think I do, but if he'd tried he would automatically have been called a bully by her supporters.
How does she know he can't sing? I'm certain she'd never heard of him or Spandau Ballet or does she have a secret collection of their CD's!
I was thinking back to the very beginning of the show, when Susannah and Tony were choosing teams, she was the only person that neither of them wanted, I wonder why.

Duncan lived in a tenement , so what so did most of Glasgow.. he had a mother and father who worked so wasnt that bad..I dont think enough people have read about Lady Cs childhood properly...

I agree. I can't even begin to imagine how traumatic her childhood must have been but then everyone has a story to tell.
There comes a time in most peoples lives when they have to decide not the let the past define their future and become the person they want to be otherwise the past wins. Her childhood doesn't give her the excuse to speak to people in the way she does imo

I found the explanation that they thought they were protecting her very iffy at best. Surely they know tv well enough to know that if you label a person "least hard working", that the producers will come up with a task to make them work.

Ironically, Tony and Chris (+ Duncan) are coming across as the least hard working camp mates now

One of her sisters, Libby, wanted her to bring a book out so people knew what she went through as a child.

I've read a couple of articles where her son was interviewed over the last couple of days. I'm more inclined to give weight to the opinions of someone who has lived with her for 22 years than someone who lived with her for 10 months, then beat her up when he found out about her horrific childhood.

Tony's nothing but a wind up merchant. His faux concern over a bug was laughable considering the carnage he left behind in his last task. He was grinning all the way through her outburst because he'd accomplished what he set out to do - light the blue touch paper and stand well back.

You don't know that he beat her! We only have her word for it (he denies it) but what we do know is that she likes to write a lot of lies about people.

How rude you are, How anyone can stand up for the way that creature behaves is totally beyond me.

Well at the very least we know he abandoned her on the strength of what she had gone through, through no fault of her own.

Have you read any of the interviews with her 22 year old son? Do you accept that he knows her a great deal better than her ex who was so horrified at the perception that he'd 'married a man'?

It was Chris who suggested 'protecting' the older female - in this case Lady C. He was being genuinely chivalrous, but it was misguided due to the risk of causing offense.

Tony didn't do anything wrong at all, and Chris made an error of judgement. Neither realised that there would be a forfeit either.....which was naive.

Lady C reacted on a point of principle, due to feeling insulted. That's how she always reacts. You can hate her for it if you want, but these incidences are avoidable if you believe in understanding and compromise in a relationship.

Chris learnt his lesson and backed off, which is why they are now friends. They both learnt to understand each other.

Tony Hadley, is too one dimensional in his personality, he has no real emotional or intellectual understanding of people who are different to him.

Tony is incapable of understanding Lady C, and anything he doesn't understand, he attacks. Hence the relationship they have.

No but I do know that he was drunk when he married her after only 5 days and she should have known better too. They both made a mistake, she was and still is very challenging with her behaviour so I don't think you can blame him entirely.
However, she claims she left du to the "beatings" so he didn't abandon her. Perhaps she should have told him the truth before they married, rather than after.
