There's no evidence that he beat her up and no report filed. He denies it so who can say - the marriage has been over for more than 40 years - she can't use the trauma to excuse her awful behaviour still surely?

Regardless, if anyone else on any reality show had used the language she had used the other night, they'd be being warned by the programme makers. I can't understand why it's being allowed.

we dont know that at all. in the article he says "I soon discovered that she is trouble with a capital T" and "We were never compatible. We had vicious rows and there was constant nonsense." so it sounds like the marriage wouldnt have lasted long regardless of her past.

this was 1974, id hazard a guess that virtually any man would have been utterly horrified at the thought they may have married a transsexual given that its still taboo even in todays more liberal and knowledgeable society.

Well I was watching it again this afternoon (sad I know) and it was Kieran lying on his bed who pointed over at the fire and said "what's that? Tony who was near the fire said - oh it's a beetle. The camera seemed to splice like some editing had occured so it's not really clear what the time frame was in which LadyC scooped it up and put it on the fire. It could have been 30 seconds or it could have been 5 minutes later. The point is Tony then told her she shouldn't have done that and started to wax lyrical about the beeeautiful beetle. She saw red....and I don't blame her.

I can't understand why all of the people who responded to my post didn't read the interviews with her son and didn't give their opinions on that! That was all I asked; that they compare and contrast the views of someone who had the volatile questionable relationship with her for 10 months or the sons she has had for 22 years.

It is ok to call Lady C al the nasty names under the Sun including one person saying that Tony should have Punched her in the Face but if she says anything nasty she is the worst person in the World. Unbelievable you could not make it up.

With Lady C, it's all about compromise and understanding HER, rather than the other way round. People who are willing to hold their tongue (Ferne and Vicky) and/or humour her (Chris and Keiron) do ok. They all make huge allowances for her considering she could start an argument in an empty room.

I thought it was hilarious her rants are often cutting but aimed in the right direction.

Because we don't care what her son says it's not relevant and won't be objective.
We can make sensible judgments about her based on what we are seeing and much more relevant, what we hear come out of her mouth.

He is a younger son, not the scion. Younger sons do not inherit the wealth.

Try as I might I cannot find a scintilla of proof that he is rich, indeed I don't know how he makes a crust. In the absence of definitive proof, and judging by the malicious comments in the tabloid rag (which is not known for printing the truth), I must take Lady C's word for it, because I KNOW that she inherited much of her wealth.

I have read the article with her son and obviously he tells a very different story. However, thats not to say that her ex husband saw a very different side to her as a lover in a a short term and volatile relationship compared to a loving son who will want to defend his mum. I have no idea whether either story is right/wrong or somewhere in the middle but there are always so many sides to every story and so maybe they're both telling the truth as they experienced it?

Whilst he may not inherit the Dukedom I hardly think he was penniless as he was described as a well travelled playboy when he met her.

But then she is penniless now if the papers are to be believed, or at least in serious debt.

If my memory serves, it was Lady C's grandmother who renounced her daughter and paid for Lady C to have corrective surgery when she was 21. I believe that she cut out her daughter and son in law from her will and left it all to Lady C. Again, IIRC, no, Lord Colin did not manage to get his hands on her inheritance.

In the dim and distant past (1940-50s) it was de rigeur for the sons of landed gentry to travel extensively, more often than not staying with business acquaintances of Mama and Papa, and no doubt Lord Colin was given an allowance - party, party, party!

I can only judge her on what I've seen of her in the jungle, and from what I've seen of her in the jungle, there is nothing remotely likeable about her.

She also has the guts to say what she thinks to people's faces, even if she goes too far at times, but I can understand her anger. It's not like some of them haven't behaved like spiteful kids and gone too far with her, including plenty of name calling. Especially after Tony's snobbish refusal to do the task. Their behaviour was an appalling display of nasty gang mentality against one person. . He was part of that gang deliberately trying to isolate her and that form of bullying is totally unacceptable and must be horrible to live with, especially when it can't be escaped. He and the odious Duncan have carried on behaving like petulant school boys towards her. Tony was showing off last night trying to make a fool of her and hypocritically claim the moral high ground in front of the others. He as usual had no answer to her most pertinent question about eating live creatures and he's far from clever enough to win any false argument with someone as astute as she is.

I don't think he was ever rich in his own right from what I know about him from years ago. He tried to live off his parents. He now lives in Miami where he "ekes" out a living as a literary agent after New York where he tried art dealing. According to Lady C hers and her family's money was all he was interested in. He doesn't have any qualifications wasn't set to inherit from his parents and he was an alcoholic and drug addict. She also claims they never had sex, he wasn't interested or capable.

Couldn't agree more dreadful excuse for a woman

Don’t me wrong, I don’t for one minute condone Lady C’s actions, (if it had been me I’d have either left the beetle where it was or taken it into the jungle). BUT to understand Lady’s C’s comments about hypocrisy you need to ask yourself whether a beetle has more of a right to live than a witchety grub and whether being thrown onto a campfire is a worse death than having your head bitten off. Let’s face it, if you were ultra-concerned about animal welfare, you wouldn’t even be watching the show. How many mud crabs got killed or injured by Tony during his last trial? He even apologised to one for accidently kneeling on it. Although we already know that Lady C strongly dislikes Tony, the thing that really pissed her off was the way that he tried to use the beetle incident to get at her. A lone beetle is beautiful, but all the creatures that get injured and killed in the trials are just collateral damage? That’s why she thinks he’s a tosser.

Sounds a real charmer. Hope the money he got for his story doesn't go to his head.
