To be honest, I suspect one or the other will be closed in time, but if it does come down to which one is used more, I'd support this one on the basis that it was started at what I consider to be a more reasonable amount of time before the episode than the other one.

So, back onto the subject, what are people's thoughts of the episode at this stage.

I'm hoping it doesn't rely too much on 'look it's gallifrey', and that Moffat has remembered that the episode will need more than things like a classic series TARDIS interior scene and Timelords in traditional dress to impress the wider audience.

What I'm saying is, having Gallifrey is cool, I just hope there is an equally cool (and well thought out, not too tangled, and all resolved by the end) story to go with it.

I'm not expecting it to be as good as last week's episode, but anywhere close and we're in for a treat.

Depending on your point of view, they are both real and the 'official' thread, and at the same time, by each others existence, cancel each other out so that neither are real.

You see, people think reality is a strict view of one true truth, but it's more a big ball of wibbly wobbly, reality weality stuff. .

Basically, post where you choose.

DWTV reviewer says The doc leaves..
Spoiler
Galiffrey half way through the ep

Moffat decides to take things on a different path around the halfway point.
Spoiler
As a result Gallifrey ends up taking more of a back seat.

"after all the build-up and a decade long absence (sans flashbacks,) this is disappointing, especially as threads are left unresolved by the end of the episode (though it does leave scope for future exploration)".
"
it's "a hopeful ending. You will smile, if you're not annoyed."

"The doctor is verging on unlikable due to some extremely questionable actions. How far would the Doctor go to heal his heart? A bit too far!"

I think we just all create our own Official threads now. I think that's how it works. It's a bit confusing. Mine is going to have 17 polling options, none of which match with any prior episode poll, which haven't matched each other one week to the next anyway. It's so much fun. I haven't yet decided when to put the poll up - straight after the episode or sometime the next day. Or never.

Could you start your thread and put your poll up today please? I prefer voting in the polls nice and early, preferably before I see the episode.

This is quite funny..

Poor OP... you weren't the first to start the thread by a few days... (a quick check would have shown you this)...
...but a fair bit of gentle ribbing on 'your' thread should have long since pointed out the mistake and prompted you to get it closed.

.. Heaven forbid you created the thread then disappeared....The gentle ribbing would become far more sinister when you didn't correctly perform your 'poll creating duties' at 1 nanosecond past the end of the episode on Saturday....

Thankfully the childish 'me first' to create the episode thread - which has resulted in crazy early threads... filled with pages of speculate nonsense before the thread is needed - is coming to an end. One can only wonder how early the Christmas episode thread will be created.

From what you have said in your post, I'm guessing we'll be back on boring old modern day earth after the gallifrey stuff.

I don't think the Op should have to get the thread closed. He's put 'official thread', which seeems to be the only requirement, and to be honest, I have more respect for this thread than the other one, because the other one was started an entire week before the episode.

If anything, keeping both threads open stands as proof of why the 'official' thread starting should be regulated, and that the forum support people should start the thread on a set day each time.

As for the christmas thread, If certain posters are around, it'll probably be started next week, with anyone who says it is too early being met with 'you're not the boss' type remarks and acting as though they feel offended and wronged by anyone who suggested they shouldn't be allowed to create it as ridiculously early as they like.

Very, very true

I'm sure AlexJones (the 'original' OP of the first 'official' thread for this episode) will be quite upset to see another another 'Official' thread which has almost got as many posts (albeit mostly irrelevant ) as his so far.

Now, I wonder if the OP of this thread is truly ready to take on the huge mantle of responsibility to create the poll at the right time with the right options.... oh the pressure. Who would want to be an 'official' episode thread starter...

Maybe lesson learned...?? ...... if you start the thread too early its very possible that theres little enough interest so far in advance to actually keep it on the first page.... which is, lets face it, as far as most can be bothered to look before starting another thread of their own on the same subject.

Me and DoctorBlueBox can just sit back and laugh heartily at moments like this. We did try and our efforts were met with disinterest or derision from the 'I do what I want' Forum Badasses.. And now look! An embarrassing shambles.

Only if you promise to start the poll now as well

This season has been very hit-and-miss for me, with probably more misses than hits. But I am still looking forward to the finale. The season 9 story arc has felt quite subtle this year and I'm interested to see where all the clues have been over the previous 11 episodes.

I'm actually at a mate's house Saturday night, who is also a Who fan, so it will be nice to watch it with someone who's a bit more engaged.

I think people might legitimately complain of yet another episode where most of the time is spent stood around chatting on a pokey set.
