How did you manage to contact them? Whenever I've tried to use the contact form recently I get an "amusing" error 404 (page not found) page?

It's the first time that we aren't going into a finale with some massive visible threat, Daleks, Cybermen, Master etc that needs resolving.

Instead we've got an angry Doctor, a nebulous hybrid threat, a confession dial and Dead Clara...could be refreshingly different or a bit ho hum.

We'll see !

Happy Finale Day everyone! Better make the most of it as our chances of getting one next year are looking slim to none so here's hoping its good enough to keep us satisfied or at least controversial enough to keep us discussing it for many months to come.

Unlike it seems quite a few people I always tend to enjoy the finales. Sure they arent often classics but they usually deliver on the big drama and emotion and moments that make you cheer/howl in outrage and I love that.

I used the report button but explained none of the 'contact us' links work anymore.

They sent me an email to tell me it had been fixed but that I should use the 'contact us' page in future and included the link in the email. I clicked the link (assuming it had been fixed) and it took me straight back to the broken page.

So I emailed them back with a screen grab just to let them know the contact page/link still isn't working.

Maybe it's on purpose because they don't want to hear from us anymore!

Must confess to being a tad worried about tonight's episode..it doesn't really have any real depth of story behind it besides the vague threat of the Hybrid to Galifrey which, considering Gallifrey was destroyed in the Time War then not destroyed is not really too compelling.

Too many disparate threads going into the show which could just be thrown away with Moffs one line exposition trick.

I do think that part of the problem is that the show might be slightly more complex than it was but it's not hugely cleverer. In the RTD days you expected frothy, slightly silly fun but nowadays, and I blame Moff and the Beeb, everything is billed as portentious and game changing and really the stories don't l just live up to the hype with some real dangling plot threads just left hanging or poorly resolved (The whole "my Clara" bit from Missy last season) and some glaring gaps in logic which you might be more prepared to accept in a show that wasn't taking itself so seriously.

Well having read what claimed to be a full spoiler for the episode but without giving anything away (spoiler tags just in case nut im only talking about the possible tone of the episode. No plot points)...

Thanks..I was a bit suspect when some of the , usually highly positive review sites, were being a bit less than excited.

Still I really don't need to see the usual CGI generated army of whatever for the umpteenth time so here's hoping.

Thing is I noticed those comments from a couple of the reviews. Of all the reasons to dislike the episode I shouldnt think the lack of wall to wall action is going to be a fair one. DW finales have never been that. Ever. They do a grand job of making the finales seem very epic with the way they use the effects shots sparingly and create an illusion of scale but its never LOTR or Star Wars. Even those finales like Journeys End which one tends to remember as being this big bombastic episode are in fact not when you look at them closely. Theres always a great deal of talking. Its what Doctor Who does, And does it very well. I would say the closest they have come to just full on action spectacle or an attempt at one is S1, S2 and S6. But even then they end up the same. Lots of scene setting and then the Doctor talking his way out of things or at least lots of extended dialogue scenes.

I suppose in some ways as fans we never learn, I remember after The End of Time Part 1 seeing the next time trailer and dreaming of Time War flashbacks and Daleks attacking Gallifrey and maybe other Doctors turning up and mssive big blockbuster stuff. Of course in the end that was just a tease for the episode. It ended (before the tour) with? A protracted dialogue scene in a large room. Standard!

Today is the day. It's Finale day.

Ridiculous about how, even with this season's faults, I've been getting overly excited by the upcoming finale ... deep breath.. calm down

Supposed to be somewhere at 8.00pm tonight so will miss watching live.

That is unless Storm Desmond gets worse and give me a viable excuse for not going

I'm the same....and then I get a twinge of sadness because it's the end of the series.

Even though it's not been my most favourite series, I will miss my Doctor.

Hope people enjoy. Be curious to see the reaction afterwards as always. This whole 'something will make Gallifrey Base explode' stuff I've heard is interesting. I think I'll recognise the scene/moment/plot twist/retcon/inspired moment/betrayal of all that is Who (delete according to opinion) when it happen, somehow!

I won't miss it at all, tbh. I don't like Capaldi or Moffat and Clara's pathetic demise meant nothing to me. And there's always a ton of classic Who to rewatch anyway.

I turned up at my mates and tried to instill some finale-excitement into the evening. But it's not really worked. I think we're both quite pleased to see the back of season 9.

Hopefully it will go out with a bang!

I'll add a "Don't worry, it's nearly over!" to my "Hope you enjoy" comment, then. That should cover it.

I struggle with the don't like Capaldi comment because I think he's a darn good actor and he can convey emotion better than any of his predecessors.

Maybe he's not had the material ?

Moff feels like he's got into a bit of a rut but , take away the show runner aspect, and he's written some fabulous stuff and admittedly some rather naff.

I think he's probably out of ideas now but, like RTD before him, it would be extremely churlish not to recognise his contribution.

Clara, yep I don't care either, but that's Moff and gals for you, they all follow the same template.

But being a good actor and being able to convey emotion don't necessarily make you a good Doctor.

For me Capaldi, whilst clearly being a great actor, just doesn't have that other-worldly Doctory-ness required for the part.

It was the same with Peter Davison - great actor but just not the Doctor. Whereas Tom Baker could have read the phone book and sounded more Doctory than him.

Just my opinion though.
