Surely it would be better to teach the children how to protect themselves adequately from the sun, rather than just not take them to the beach?

An E at A level is probably a C at AS level.

I think it depends what subjects you take as to how "valuable" your grades are.

A friend of mine took two A levels and got an A and a C. The A was in art.
Nothing wrong with that, but she only had one subject to revise for.
Another friend got three C's, all in academic, essay subjects. His workload was far greater.

Wasn't paying attention there, how many times have Hawkwind been mentioned?

Scott's argument about the referendum this morning was really ill thought out. He said if you ask everyone what it means to them to be British they will all give a different answer but they can all tell you what it means to be a mother or to be a worker . I expect being a mother is very different for Katy than it is for a single mother on benefits on the waiting list for a home and being a worker is very different for a stand up comedian than it is for someone on minimum wage in a low-skilled job. His argument didn't mean anything.

Steps woman is wearing well. Could easily pass for 30. I imagine her doormat is untroubled by PRS cheques though.

I am very much in favour of Presumed Consent being adopted country-wide.

It's an insult to doctors to think they'd deliver a lower level of care to donor card holders.
Can't believe that would cross anyone's mind.

Glad I'm going out before the hunting dogs story.

In case anyone was wondering and to give a little flesh to the twitter poll they are quoting, there are currently 1088 votes.
So, a large margin in favour, but not a lot of votes.

Sobering call there from Chloe. Credit where it's due - Wrighty handled it well.

He did.

I would have liked to have heard from people in the "no" camp though.
I can't think of a reason, save religion (which does not affect me but obviously is fundamentally important to many) why peolpe would be against.

Perhaps there were no "no" callers, or perhaps it was just that the "yes" callers they chose had incredibly relevant and compelling opinions.

This Ellie Butler story is appalling.

I agree with Katy. Might be appropriate to alter the process so these decisions aren't made by a single judge.

Damn! Didn't go out before the fox story.
Changing channels will have to do.
The little I saw will be on my mind all day.

I looked away.

£220 to wallow in mud with a load of crusties. You couldn't pay me to go to Glasto.

A classic Glastonbury lineup, not and 220 quid for the pleasure, all railing against capitalism and its probably one of the most corporate festivals in the world.

At least we have Kev to look forward to tomorrow. My liver is taking a hit this week with this lineup.

Half-cocked jazz hands there from Wrighty following on from Scott's full-on version earlier.

Tell that friend with the car there's ten quid of petrol in the tank so I won't come and siphon it off and that's you paid back. Bloody cheek!

Steps playing Glastonbury shouldn't be laughed at what with Adele headlining at the weekend. Utter crap playing in a sea of mud. (apologies to adele fans)

Surprisingly good show today I thought we'd be in airhead heaven with Claire from Steps but to my surprise the woman has some well thought out opinions.

Personally I wasn't one for the organ transplant project in Wales so politetly told them nothing was available from my dead body.

Sad to see Glastonbury still can't handle the mud despite all the times its happened to their show. The one year I went there it was ironically a hot dry June and my main worry was staying hydrated and not getting over exposed to the sun. I think 200 is way OTT for a weekend show seeing how much you 'll miss if you're down at the show, its better to watch it on tv even if you have to put up with Mark Ratcliffe and Jo Wiley.
