Judging Jessica Jones on just the first couple of episodes... admittedly quite slow but give it time. One of the most intelligently written, multi-layered shows I've seen for some time. Kevin should watch the rest of it and come back with a better review.
Seeing as all episodes are out I don't think it's sufficient to just review the first couple of episodes if they're all available. You wouldn't watch the first 20 minutes of a film and base your review on that. |

Haven't seen Jessica Jones but many people said the same about Breaking Bad and not being able to get into after a few episodes but they are missing out on one of the best tv shows. Fargo is another gem of a series thats in the same boat. Some peoples attention spans are pathetic these days, they want action all the time.
I think that as Jessica Jones is a Marvel character with super powers perhaps some come to the show with certain preconceived expectations of what it will be like. When it isn't like The Avengers with people flying all over the place firing beams out of their hands they might feel a bit disappointed that it wasn't the action packed extravaganza they thought it would be. It's probably more of a psychological crime thriller than it is a superhero series. You're right that Fargo series 2 is another good series which is all about building up a story over time. I think that with TV series now some of them try to create something interesting and hope the viewer will allow themselves to grow with the story. Which is quite difficult to do when some of the audience will hear about the show and expect it to instantly gratify them. Some shows are designed to do that, others are not. |

I think people who knock this show should be careful what they wish for. Amongst daytime television it stands out like a shimmering beacon in a sea of dross. It's just about the only TV show between 9am and 6pm that requires more than two brain cells to rub together and an attention span superior to that of a gnat. The council house topic brought out a few interesting points and I thought the woman on the panel was very articulate and well informed. I didn't have a clue who she was though.

I was extremely impressed with Louise Hazel, but assumed she must be a singer until I looked her up. |

I like that you like it. But... I like the show for the discussion. I don't like it so much when the host won't let anyone else speak. Incidentally it is not because I don't agree with much of MW's sentiments. It is because I like the format due to it being about hearing "different" views. Debate can then ensue but sadly the show is often unwatchable due to his inability to let people speak.

Must we do all the same stories about Heaton and Abbot every time they come on TWS, having also only just retold them on Sunday Brunch yesterday?
Why do reformed drinkers pause after saying they don't drink anymore? Are they expecting a round of applause? ....Aaaand we're onto Corbyn straightaway. |

They may have pledged to piss more trillions down the green toilet but it is not legally binding.

Why can't they vet the callers so they don't put through pensioners that want to ramble on about anything and everything? Is that so difficult? Others shows seem to manage it.
I wonder what day we can expect the tedious Jason to phone in with his Steve Wright in the Afternoon comedy voice and stylings? |

Corbyn should give those two a job. They can sing and make policy with billy bragg at the same time.
