The irony of Penny Smith, maker of tabloid telly, advocating doing other stuff to create life-memories rather than watching telly seems lost on her.

![]() She had a grat point though and well put across. I remember all the family holidays as if they were yesterday, times that I can still visualise, however when it comes to that 'never to be forgotten' moment on televison, I find a few months down the line I have forgotten it. |

Is she the 'maker of tabloid telly'? If so, what?

I remember many family holidays - All of them miserable in wet shitholes around the country or getting dragged to some golf town so my dad could spend the week on a golf course. However I can remember every episode of Dr Who from my childhood and those are happy memories!

I feel out of kilter with the other TWS viewers in that I have quite enjoyed hearing Dominic Holland and Penny Smith on the panel this week.

Well said Miles Hunt about people who kill animals for fun, they are definitely psychopaths. That **** William is a total hypocrite, he is a patron of The Tusk Trust yet thinks trophy hunting is okay.

My parents always seemed to make it fun and explore the delights of the UK and the continent. Back in those days tv was not a 24/7 activity, especially during the day when the 'test card' was a regular feature!! As for Dr Who, it was on at around 5:05pm after the football results on a Saturday, and was only a 25 minute programme. I was always facinated with the Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart who I always thought he looked like the BBC tv newsreader Richard Whitmore. ![]() These days there are far too many tv programmes available to make any of them memorable. |

She was not respnsible for the content, however she slaways seemed a competent presenter and host.

I can't dispute your sad memories of times past on your holidays. Dad was a smoker as well so trapped in the car on a long journey with kids sucking in his second-hand smoke does not make for happy memories.

Depends if you watch indiscriminately or not. Far too many people treat TV like my dad (there's a theme developing here...) used to treat the radio - Always on. I hate people who say "I don't watch TV" or "I haven't got a telly" and then expect a round of applause for their pious self-denial. Television is a medium just the same as film, books, music (how ironic bearing in mind today's guest), theatre etc. Crap and quality exist in all of them. |

I honestly forgot that Dominic is a comedian.
I'm not trying to make a clever comment, I'd literally forgotten that he is a comedian until somebody in a post above mentioned it which reminded me. |

I like her sense of humour too and imagine she'd be a right laugh at any party etc. Looks pretty good for 57 too.
I vaguely remember that Dom bloke from something else. Was he Chris Evans's servant on TFI Friday? I really can't imagine how he could ever be a comedian. |

That was Will or Weeeeeeeeeeelll as the child-man used to call him. IIRC he's a producer in LA now although didn't Evans drag him back for the wretched new run of TFI? |

Holland has to go overseas to get a booking these days apparently. Does he have to bill himself on the posters as "Spider-Dad" I wonder?

So Matthew thinks the sugar tax is controversial now that it's been brought in by osbourne. He's been banging on about it for yonks. More sneering today as it didn't,t go his way on the budget yesterday. Will the callers play ball today?

What role does this old fella have on Hollyoaks or Neighbours? I mean, surely he must be on one or the other...? Or has a smart guest slipped past the idiot threshold of the guest booker.
Amazing how Wrighty shuts the **** up and doesn't interrupt when he has someone on who he's interested in. |

Penny Smith doesn't just talk, she witters, usually when others are talking as well. How did she ever work as a newsreader?
Wrighty having to shush her several times today as she butts in on everything. |

Zero congestion in primrose hill Matthew unless you count all the yummy mummies and their prams heading to the local coffee shops. Matthew really has it in for George even his briefcase is getting it. Got to love the comrades. Edward being a good example

The special guest keeps bringing up subjects with labour that would keep Matthew busy for months but he won,t touch with a barge pole.

My flabber is well and truly ghasted. She has been around for quite a while on TV but I would never have guessed that she is 57. Having said that she doesn't seem to have changed much in looks over the years. She's hardly aged since from around the time I first acknowledged her on television. She looks pretty much the same now as she did then. |

Quoted for truth. She thinks she's very amusing doesn't she? Being particularly interrupty and wittery today.
