Penny Smith is 57?????

My flabber is well and truly ghasted.

She has been around for quite a while on TV but I would never have guessed that she is 57. Having said that she doesn't seem to have changed much in looks over the years. She's hardly aged since from around the time I first acknowledged her on television. She looks pretty much the same now as she did then.
According to her wiki page and it seems to be right having looked at other news reports from before that time. Yes she's 'worn well' and i think even her critics would be forced to acknowledge that!

Dropped from GMTV when that was pruned she kept a dignified silence and moved on, unlike Matthews mate off Countryfile who forever bleats on about 'ageism'.

Excellent first phone caller (from Co Durham) on the budget topic who put her case over very well. The divide made even wider as the already well paid (yes you Matthew) benefit from those less well off.

Are they so hard up at C5 that they can only afford the worst-quality video clips? Talking about the budget, they had a clip of George Osborne talking about the sugar tax and it was like the lowest quality Youtube video and not even in sync.

Holland has to go overseas to get a booking these days apparently. Does he have to bill himself on the posters as "Spider-Dad" I wonder?
Will he appear in Tom's first Spider-Man film of his own next year?

Quoted for truth. She thinks she's very amusing doesn't she? Being particularly interrupty and wittery today.

Wrighty having to shush her several times today as she butts in on everything.
That was clearly done as a joke. Yes, she had something to say but she's flirty as hell and they were clearly both doing that for the cameras.

GMTV - Does it get any more tabloid?

I remember many family holidays - All of them miserable in wet shitholes around the country or getting dragged to some golf town so my dad could spend the week on a golf course. However I can remember every episode of Dr Who from my childhood and those are happy memories!
I'm sorry Straker you have bad memories of wet British holidays due to your dad.

I have memories of wet British outings as well. My parents and aunt and uncle each in our respective cars stretched some sort of tarpaulin between the cars during a downpour and made it such fun.

I firmly believe that when you have children, their needs are far more important than one's own interests especially in the early years. Hence bucket and spade holidays. So good when they're over and done with.

Think back though as to where your dry wit has been inherited from?

As for this week? I like Dom Holland and don't begrudge him pleasure in Tom's success. Penny Smith does witter. Her sewing skills are faulty, note the neckline of her top, but she's alright. Cue maybe a celebrity Sewing Bee.

Enjoyed the guest today although his tome tells us nothing that we didn't know already, just now in print and giving him an income.

I can't believe libel damages awarded don't benefit the winner. If that's the case how come losses financially ruin people? Porkies there I think.

The producers need to look elsewhere apart from mumsnet.
The TV v Holiday came directly from there.

It's either that or the Daily Mail.

Fans of sewing and Penny Smith will be in hog heaven at the opening wittering today. She'd probably witter on all through a shag as well....

This is a real 'piss take' of a subject so to speak. Scraping the barrel more like for subjects.

I watched a bit of @elevenish and it was awful! There are a few good comedians on it that are funny but this was dire. The 'american' comedian I have seen is good but not in this and also Canadian!

And she was on to promote her new 'bonkbuster' novel... which only had one sex scene... and the editors took that out. Huh? That's really selling her new line in Jackie Collins literary tat!

This is a real 'piss take' of a subject so to speak. Scraping the barrel more like for subjects.
Why not "Funerals - how can we make them fun?"

Next week - "Shitting in a box - Is it Wrong?"
I'm now playing that in my head to the tune of "Living in a Box"

Wrighty does more than his share of wittering and constant interrupting. During the news section he was constantly over talking Penny Smith which is just downright rude and unprofessional.

Good on Penny who just carried on regardless to finish her news section.

We should hold a competition on here to see who can come up with the most Wright Show-esque talking point that's both banal and ridiculous.

"Lining your hamster cage with pubic hair - does that make me a devil worshipper?"

"Lining your hamster cage with pubic hair - does that make me a devil worshipper?"
"Who has the nation's best beard - Jeremy Corbyn or Gideon Osborne?"

"Why can't kids listen anymore?" (MW would without irony talk over everyone during this)

"How much knowledge do you need before you feel comfortable lecturing people on a topic?"

"Is it professional for the boss to take lots of sick days?"

"Is it possible to debate without getting emotional?"

"Are people becoming more rude to each other?" (Again without irony this would include MW cutting a caller off because they don't know what they are talking about, and are probably a fascist)

Or more realistically...

"Is Putin controlling the situation in Syria?"

cut short to make time for...

"Does Kanye West tweet too much?"
