Katy 'disgusting' Brand and Matthews ex microphone holder aka The Independent editor are back tomorrow. Time to stock up on the vodka.

Is the female panellist a comedian? She's very shouty and likes to talk over other people, which I suppose means she fits in well on this show. She seems a bit like Shazia Mirza - lots of opinions without any real knowledge to back them up.

She sounded somewhat desperate, begging folks to come to her gig.
I imagine there'll be more cancellations than fresh bookings after this week's stint on the panel!! |

Matthew losing his cool and using The Sun in evidence against a caller who correctly point out the photo was not a selfie.
If the photo was a genuine selfie the detail Matthew's pointing out in the picture might very likely not have been seen anyway.

Its not a selfie matthew. its a photograph. Stop trying to push an agenda. Even the panelist has mentioned it yet you choose to ignore.
![]() ![]() ![]() Moot point anyway. If a terrorist came into my workplace and I had a picture taken with them at my request, if I survived I wouldn't expect my colleagues or bosses to be particularly impressed. Quote:

God he was real Mr Angry with that caller. Pity the caller didn't just slam the phone down and cut Wright off for a change.

Oh look, one of Tiff's followers told her it wasn't a selfie and she's pretending she just thought of it.

Chided for Tweeting/facebooking before the break and after the break has the realisation "it's not a selfie!". I'm making an assumption seeing as they have time to go through the papers beforehand so I'm sure she would've mentioned it upfront then if she'd sussed that from the off.

He's quite adept at positing a strawman argument, changing the goalposts halfway through or asking another question entirely and then berating a caller for not giving him the answer he wants.
His producer on this is just useless. Someone needs to tell him that being snide, insulting and rude to callers is not professional. Vet them better and only put through ones with cogent, relevant points or is the whole aim to offer up ones that he can then freely insult? Very unfair to callers who have so little time to get their point across usually, without being immediately wrong-footed. If they don't answer quickly enough, or just plough on with the point they wanted to make, they risk being hung-up on. He is really infuriating and incredibly immature at times. |

![]() Anything happening online they just don't seem to truly understand and tend to rely on bad research. These people in the media appropriated the term 'troll' and thought it meant cyber-bully, then the meaning of the word changed in many people's perceptions. Now they're trying to appropriate the word 'selfie' and change its meaning thinking it must simply mean the same as 'photo'. I don't think they do it deliberately, I think it's just sheer ignorance and stupidity. They just like to blow off a lot of hot air about what's right and wrong even if it's on a subject they know absolutely nothing about and a researcher has just told them about the same morning. They do the same thing when the subject of Ecigs pop up on this show, which it frequently does. Never have I seen such poor knowledge on display about a subject than on this show. It feels like the media informs itself by referring to other media, and some of the celebrities talking about cultural issues and subjects seem to live in some sort of bubble which is protected from general society. |

It reminds me of Alan Partridge 'Knowing Me Knowing You' when Alan suddenly sacks Glen Ponda live on air for showing a little dissent and making a light joke thus making Alan angry. Alan tells him that he had a joke of his own and that the joke was that he was going to give him his P45.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The cringe factor is very high when Matthew goes into one. Everyone else seems quite embarassed. |

Matthew: "Storms blow things away don't they Storm? Like P45s in the wind belonging to lippy research assistants". |

I can't believe that he's so narcissistic and afraid of looking like he is wrong that he would use The Sun as evidence to back up his point that it's a selfie, when simple common sense, and the fact that the clue's in the name, tells anyone if they stop to think why a selfie is called a selfie.
He must know that he was wrong mustn't he? I really wish that it was in his beloved Daily Mail, just to see if his desperation to be seen to be right would allow him to use the DM as proof and evidence to support his claim. |

Part of the problem I reckon is the regular audience of coffin-dodgers and weirdos. He clearly knows them all by name so it must be a little like playing to an audience of mates instead of considering his conduct as going out to an audience of several hundred thousand who aren't so invested in chuckling along to his snide rudeness. Whatever the cause is it's clear Screechy (childish/sexist(?) name for producer duly noted) is somewhat subordinate to his whims and as a result we have the show that we do rather than the better one we deserve. These folk seem to be there virtually every day. Their lives must revolve around TWS studio appearances. Very strange people. Quote:
One of the most childish displays he's ever given. To think he reckons he's a professional broadcaster when he does stuff like that is just ridiculous. Glad he can see a distinction between himself and Kyle because for most everyone else there's barely a cigarette paper between them.
I think it's run out of puff now. The same old format and guests year in year out with Wright having menstrual issues on a daily basis and a bad back every month, it's time for drastic changes to be made or shut the programme down.Far too much time is wasted on the days panel guest with Wrighty fawning all over them, then inviting obviously scripted questions from the two panel members. I don't know why any viewers bother phoning in because they will only be met with rudeness. The reason Wright makes snide comments about Kyle is because he's jealous. As much as i dislike the man Kyle has gone on to do other shows where Wright has been stuck with TWS because it's been shown he cannot handle anything beyond that (he completely lost control of the Benefits debate within minutes). TWS is his limit. |

'Hotshot' he's taking the piss. The Independent stopped being independent long ago and turned into a left wing preaching rag. No pity for it at all. The Guardian is going the same way.

You mean the 850m the labour party spent bailing out the banks in 2008 Matthew not the current 'government'.

Corbyn knows full well we can't do a thing about this due to EU rules which he wants to remain a part of. Matthew is having another socialist whinge but being very sketchy on the details.

They will do that. They'll have staff talking to the caller on the line asking them what points they are going to make and whatnot. It's Matthew's fault if he decides to suddenly ask an unrelated question at the drop of a hat to put them off. The caller will try to stick to what the staff have agreed with them to say because they would have been instructed to stick to the topic.
