Is he serious when he says that his show is 'outside of the mainstream media'?
The Wright Stuff IS the mainstream media. What is he talking about?

So I guess that what we can take from that is that he prefers to work for television for that very reason instead?
What he neglects to mention in that article is that even though politicians may exert influence over the BBC, Channel 5 is privately owned, but that doesn't mean that the owners of Channel 5 can't exert their influence over the shows on its channel.
