OMG, Matthew, you really think that the caller is the only person in the entire country who doesn't like that poster?
Stacey is making far more sense than Matthew.

Matthew seems to have no ability to conduct a phone-in.
They really need to address this.

Just switched the telly on and put on 5 to see who was on today and landed in the middle of Matthew being his usual argumentative and bullying self.
Heard Stacy Solomon try to intervene and Matthew rudely ignore her.

Ive switched off again.

Matthew if you still read this forum - you have become so unlikeable.
Time to retire.

Hand the show over to a presenter who is willing to let callers have an opinion of their own and actually air it.

Might be a waste of time but I have just emailed Channel 5 to complain about Matthew's behaviour.

It might help if others also emailed.

Maybe its time he retired.
He belittles callers and seems so resentful.
Not the right attitude for the host of a show asking people to call in.

Storm as the sexy housekeeper is doing it for me. Worth putting up with all the other stuff just for that!

+1 that!

As lovely as it is to see Storm out from behind the desk, this housework story really didn't need to be illustrated.

Just catching up now and at the start of the papers.

Following the woman who complained about being interruted, I couldn't help but tweet...

On @5WrightStuff: @jqedwards, @StaceySolomon & the arrogrant @Matthew_Wright. It's like Nietzsche, Wittgenstein & Kierkegaard are in the room!

As well as the fact that he wastes ages at the start of that part by recapping on the summaries of the panellists (like it matters?? We've heard them!)

Slappers and Straker, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.... we really don't need any neigh-sayers

It was gratuitous, unnecessary titillation for sad, older men. Well, why else would we bother with TWS?

Blimey!! that was painful to watch, I went blind for a few minutes when I saw those teeth and then my ears started to bleed with that incessant noise coming from Stacey's mouth.

What on earth has Helen Lederer done to her face? Has she just had an allergic reaction to peanuts or has she stuck her face into a wasp's nest?

I've never heard of that woman with the dayglo teeth, but I assume she's from one of those TOWIE-type programmes. I thought she gradually revealed herself to be not as thick as she was pretending, but why on earth do people think that teeth like that are desirable?

I like Matthew Wright. He does get a bit abrupt with some callers, but having listened to a few radio phone-ins where the presenter lets some idiots prattle of for far too long, I think he mainly does what's necessary. He's the best presenter on TV in my opinion – although his anti-Daily Mail stance does help in that respect.

Chit your name reminds me of the Abba song where they sing chicken tikka tell me whats wrong ?

For all Matties problems I still think the paper review with the panel is good for a laugh and so is ol' Kevin on a friday with the tv shows info. Whats on the other channels in the morning well not much.

I think the ditzy Essex airhead is an act. Just minutes into the first topic and she questions "why would anyone who has billions want to hide what they should pay?" Seems logical to me!

First caller getting the rough side of his tongue as per usual.”

One place that does is Macallans whisky distillery in Scotland. Not just "job for life" but literally cradle to grave. I went there on a tour a few years ago and was puzzled by rows of houses within the grounds. The guide explained they were for employees and the company encouraged family employment. In some cases the whole families worked for Macallans. I suppose the homes were cheap rental so there was a big incentive to work there.

Yes the first caller wasn't playing Wrighty's game so he threw a strop as usual. You can have an opinion, but only if it's agreeable to Wrighty's view.

She's the female Joey Essex. For some reason, she has a clothing label, or something like that. How she went from coming 86th on the X-Factor, or whatever, to where she is now, god only knows.

I still watch from time to time if I'm around when the paper review is on.
And I always watch Kevin O'Sullivan's section.

I just wish Matthew would stop being so horrible to some of the callers. he really is too waspish with them.

And I wish the panel guests weren't made up of TOWIE/X FACTOR people so often.

"Am I stupid" she asks. Yes, you are.

The freelancer then asks, "Why can't we go after these tax avoiders?" That'd be you then along with anyone else who is self-employed - All, perfectly legally, avoid tax.

Stacey and Jeremy taking on Wrighty over the tax avoidance subject. Good on them!

Adil Ray staying out of things.

Was quite funny today. It was the first time I've seen Matthew Wight squirm when a caller put him in his place.
The topic was about stereotypes. The caller said to him 'well you stereotype about white working class British people. When ever you say people are racist you put on a British working class accent'.
You could see he was actually stumped as to what to say as he does do it all the time. He soon cut that caller off.

No, it's good to have a new thread when something significant happens.

I, and I'm sure a lot of others, would never have seen this if it had been buried in one of those interminable fan threads.

Even if it is merged in a bit, at lest it will have done its job.

Yes I caught that bit today and was quite amused. It was noticeable that the woman had quite a confrontational manner with him and refused to be silenced. She obviously knows how he treats callers and how hypocritical he can be. Incidentally he used the "coming from Croydon" excuse which is a common thing he likes to bring up. The main thread has repeated reminders that he lives in an expensive house in Primrose Hill.

As for the comment about him, it was odd that he tried to excuse himself saying that he is working class and white. Given the nature of the previous discussion it is rather lame to use that excuse. By extension does that mean it is fine to stereotype a group in society as long as you are a member? Typical weak reasoning from him simply to not accept his own failings.

I doubt he will take the caller's point on board though. He never thinks he is wrong and after the call he was playing up the caricature voice that she was talking about in a sarcastic manner. The only reason he didn't start shouting at her and then bang on about it was that it was the end of the show.

Incidentally it is funny that one of the previous posts above calls the main thread a "fan" thread. I know why they said it and it may be technically correct but as a frequent visitor I can confirm that most on there can't stand Wright. He is a twonk.
